  Pros

  Had IAA 2.2 and no difference in programs. With 2.3 Medal of Honor, COD, Laser Age and Afterdark games load faster and play smoother.MS Word,Encarta, AOL, Spybot all load faster

  Summary

  Note-I still have a dinosaur computer running Win ME,640 megs memory with an ATI card w/ 256 megs of memory. I dont know if there would be a boost to people who dont live in the dark ages but for economically challenged people, it works. MaxMem helps squeaze more memory for use and TitleBarClock tells me the free memory(both on CNET)

  Pros

  It did find updates quickly.

  Cons

  It wants to update software programs that I no longer use or want to update with no way to disable the update search for that particular software product.

  Summary

  It seems to work like it's suppose to. It lacks an option to "uncheck" or deselect a program from searching for an update. Not all new versions of software are good or compatable with my current operating system or hardware. Most things improve over time and therefore feedback is important to any product. This helped me updated what I wanted to and what was needed. I will continue to use it until I encounter problems.

• Only way to enable udma on my Thinkpad T30 (ver 2.2.2)

  Pros

  The Hitachi hdd in my T30 Thinkpad was slow, only working in PIO mode w/xp drivers. I downloaded the Process Explorer and found hardware interrupts using lots of cpu cycles. After installing IAA, problem resolved, now in UDMA mode5. Works great

  Cons

  No cons other than no longer updated past 2.2.2 for mobile chips, ver 2.3 does not work on laptops. 2.2.2 is still available

  Summary

  Intel Application Accelerator was the only way I could get the laptop to see the Hitachi drive in UDMA mode 5 and not PIO mode. Using the XP and IBM drivers on this laptop, it was stuck with PIO only. This led to cpu usage topping 50% on app startup. After installing the IAA< the drive went to UDMA mode 5 and cpu usage went to 5%. Night and day difference. Battery life is a lot better too.

  Notifies the user if installation is incompatible to install via information window during installalation,a plus for the novice

  There are no Cons-If It applies to your system It Installs-If incompatible It wont

  Summary

  Most Intel applications/updates prevent improper install,this is a feature of most quality software applications/updates etc..Should be the industry standard in All software applications/updates ,Unfortunately Such is NOT yet the case.If your a Novice or a Pro,It's a problem free application with easy install.The typical purpose of this particular type application is to increase overal applications performance/response and speed (lower speed intel processors and on onboard video chipsets)though chiefly aimed at visual processes-Many older and lower speed PC's will benifit

  Pros

  It worked well and scanned quickly.

  Cons

  It found an upgrade that didn't work from Intel, plus it found other upgrades where the vendor providing it wanted a fee before upgrading.

  Summary

  I installed & uninstalled this product as it didn't meet my expectations. I am going to try it again on another PC.

  Pros

  This program can help me control a feature on hard drives known as Automatic Acoustics Management, a feature which, when enabled, makes a drive run quieter, at the expense of throughput.

  Cons

  Even though I can control AAM, I'm not sure about speed, I haven't seen any difference since switching from the Intel Ultra ATA Storage Driver to the one provided with the program. (???) And, should I set AAM for "Maximum Performance" or disable it?

  Summary

  For those of you that encounter a system failure, I suggest you read the fine print, because it is meant for computers containing the Intel Ultra ATA Storage Driver, not drivers for nVidia or ASUS or whatever. But in the mean time, those parallel ATA drives are going obsolete -- start making plans to buy a new system.

  Pros

  Well I downloaded this for a compaq presario 1500 (older intel pentium 4) and it seems to do a great job. You should check intels website first because there are many specs that your computer should have but also if this isn't the one for you on there website they may have one for your system. As i have learned, you should always check your system specs.
