"Best software on Mac for home automation."
Version: Indigo 5.0.1
Pros
Good user interface and the functionality is very customizable via AppleScript/Python. As one example, I use AppleScript to query my weather station for temperature and rainfall, then make adjustments to the amount I water the lawn.
Customer support from Perceptive Automation is also very good.Cons
The Pro version is a bit expensive.

"Works Great, Wonderful Support"
Version: Indigo 3.0
Summary

Ive used this for two years with all my insteon switches at home. Version progress is slow and steady (as anything that is done by a small or one man team is)
The developer answers almost all posts on his forums (and there are a lot) and it very helpful.
I highly recommend this product. It is the cornerstone of my home automation system. -
"Work of a genius"

I have to say this software is the best, it just darn works!
OK price is a little high BUT the support alone is worth that, Matt posts a reply to my questions within hours. I am a BIG fan of this software and would recommend it to anyone. Updates are regular with new futures added often. -
"Too much money"

I have to agree with the other posts here about the cost. I was waiting for 2.0 to become available to pay the $90 (reluctantly). $200 is way out of the range I would be willing to pay for a product like this.
I guess this could be a positive if it encourages others to develope applications with similar functionality.
Has anyone had success with thier intel macs running the FREE windows software that comes with thier controllers with Parallels? -
"WaY OverPRICED for Most People"
Version: Indigo 2.0.0

Most people just want to turn the lights on and off. If you make the program look jazzy that's fine. The most successful small software programmers/sellers keep the price affordable so when most hard working people see the price they say, "I can afford that", I will paypal or whatever. Graphic Converter is one of the best programs and success stories and he did it by selling volume. If you sold this program for 30.00 you would get 100s of new customers right away. You will never build up a customer base with the price at 89.95, and now you want to charge 200.00? I would pay 30.00 for the program and IM sure many other people feel the same way. Graphic Converter has made the big money because when people see the price they buy it right away. Not the case here... -

... huge upgrade in Version 2. The ability to easily create a control page (a web page that controls everything that you can access from any browser) is brilliant. One of the few Mac software products that I can't do without. I know that this is only a beta version, but I would like to see the final version make it a bit easier to integrate video in to the control page. Nonetheless, this is the by far the best Home Automation software that I have seen so far ... and I have used most of them. -

"Wonderful piece of Software"
Version: Indigo 1.5.0
Summary

I had been previously using Thinking Home and I decided to change over to Indigo. This software ROCKS! Very easy to use, nice interface and (in my opinion) much easier to use/understand than Xtension. I am still waiting for my PowerLinc Controller to come in since I cannot program my CM11A controller anymore, so I have to leave my compuer on in the meantime, but this is no big deal. Would be kinda nice (and fun!) to have speeh recognition capabilities...
The email feature of being able to control your devices by email is pretty sweet!
