Publisher's Description
From Ippei UKAI:
Hugin is an open-source panorama photo creation tool. It can put multiple photos together very easily and the end result is smooth and stunning. Hugin uses the same open source library used by many other software including shareware like PTMac from Kekus Digital. Hugin is, however, free and you can start making panoramic photos without buying any expensive software or equipment. Unlike many similar software, Hugin considers the shapes of the lens and can adapt to the particular distortion profile of your camera.
For advanced users, hugin also has many features for making panoramas with special equipment, including two types of fisheye lenses and more.
What's new in this version: See http://hugin.sourceforge.net/releases/2011.2.0/en.shtml.

"Yep, works for me!"
Version: Hugin 0.7.0

Not the easiest program to install or use, but it's freeware, and I don't need to do this often. With a bit of work and the variety of readme's and help resources for the installation, I got hugin to auto stitch a panorama for me and it worked fine. THANKS!!! -

"Thanks"
Version: Hugin 0.6.1
Summary

I'm never going to buy a professional product for this job - I have never done this before and will be unlikely to do it again. So... this was great!
1. Free
2. Easy to use (all discussions of command lines are irrelevant - it works like most applications)
3. Excellent results - high quality graphics produced
4. Free
5. Clever - tries to find matching points
6. Intuitive - obvious flow through the process
7. Free
On my 2x3 GHz Quad-Core Intel running 10.5.2 it took 30 minutes to produce a 500Mb TIFF stitch from ten 5M JPG pictures of Lisbon's Vasco de Gama bridge. Crashed several times, but I'm a cmd-S regular so it didn't hurt. Good enough for me.
Thanks for this. -
"A very usefull application but can't call..."

Summary
...autopano-sift
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have installed mono framework and autopano-sift onto my Intel iMac (running OS 10.4.8) and HuginOSX works perfectly. I have chosen "use alternative autopano-sift programme" from the preferences of Hugin OSX and directed it to autopano-sift-2.4/bin/autopano-complete.sh.
When I click on "create ctrl points" in Hugin I get a panel headed "running
autopano" which says "please wait while autopano searches control points ..."
After a short while I then get an error message headed "autopano failure -
Could not open autopano_results_tempfile.pto for reading. This is an indicator that the autopano call failed, or wrong command line parameter have been used."
I ran the script autopano-complete.sh independently via ScriptGUI and it
returned the result:
fork: Resource temporarily unavailable
csh: No more processes.
I have been trying this for the last month to no avail and have emailed the autopano-sift developer but haven't received a reply.

"Free, user friendly, but a little buggy"
Version: Hugin 0.5snap20050614
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I tried Hugin early on and wasn't too keen on it. Time passed and the newest version was released so I gave it another go. I can honestly say that Hugin is one of the easiest panoramic apps to use. I used quite a few and the only other app that was this easy to use was Apple's own QTVR Authoring Studio. Hugin does have a few bugs and I am sure they will be worked out with time. Adding a couple of extras would make it the best stitching app around.
