  Pros

  I like Zoho Mail, but the only barrier that kept me from making it my default mailbox was that it doesn't have real taskbar notifier. Howard Email Notifier is the only one that also notifies you of the total unread emails of all your combined email clients in Zoho. Besides Zoho, it supports, Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter and more.

• At last! A webmail notifier that works

  Pros

  Been waiting for something like this for years! Unlike POP3 ones I've used in the past that were also not very satisfactory, it's very simple to set up. Choose from a few options (right-cick on the tray icon), enter your email address and password, and that's it. When you receive new mail a red circle & the number appears on the tray icon, also a brief popup shows the sender/s and subject/s. The red circle only stays a couple of minutes but after it is gone the information shows if you hover your cursor over the icon. The details remain until you have read the email/s & to do this a simple click on the tray icon opens your email screen. An additional advantage of this is that you can delete any other shortcut you may have & use the tray icon instead. Disclaimer: I have absolutely no connection whatsoever, personal or commercial, with the German developer, & it is 100% pure coincidence that I have the same name as the software (though that is something of a bonus for me!).

Not working since 9 September 2014. No response from developer. Hopefully it might get fixed, because it was the best notifier ever.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on Sep 25, 2014<p/>As of today it is fixed and working again. It seems the problem was solely related to Zoho Mail and due to some sort of a change they made. In the developer's words, the software tried to check for emails on Zoho, but it was unsuccessful because the response from Zoho was not what the software expected. All praise to SZ for his excellent one-to-one support.

  Pros

  Does exactly what I've been looking for over the last 2-3 years when msn got outdated. It launches automatically on windows startup so no need to mess around with it. And the setup was extremely fast and easy. And it's just hidden down in the taskbar, not bothering you in any way. Skype still hasn't implemented something for their hotmail/outlook users, so I'll gladly continue use this notifier.

  Recommend this to anyone. Can't tell about the "delay" some people seem to mention. But for me it shouldn't matter anyway if the noficiation isn't received instantly. I haven't found a similiar software in previous attempts. They are always not working. I didn't believe this was going to work either but to my positive surprise it did.

  -Very easy to use -Changes colors and shows the number of emails on the icon when a new email is received -Excellent alternative email notifier since MSN Messenger has been phased out -Very happy that this excellent sofware is free -Kudos to the software developer!

  Pros

  I installed and tested several times and I was surprised to see how good this little program is. I was so frustrated because since Windows Live Messenger merged with Skype I lost all my custom features. The email alerts was the one I missed the most and lots of people are complaining about it. I am using it for my Hotmail account and works just fine. I also had the choice to customize the sound I want it for the notification. I love that. An icon in your task-bar change from blue to red when you get an email and if you move your mouse over the icon you will see what is the email subject and sender info, also how many more emails are unread. Once you read the new emails the color change again. Thanks The SZ Development for creating Howard and for having it available for free. I hope that does not change. I can't wait to recommend and share this with the many people that were requesting this feature.
