Publisher's description of HDD Temperature
From PalickSoft:HDD Temperature is monitoring software that protects your hard drives from getting overheated. Using the SMART technology included in all modern hard drives, HDD Temperature checks and monitors the temperature of your hard drive; you can also set the maximum value for drive temperature so you'll be warned if that temperature is exceeded. HDD Temperature Pro can monitor multiple HDDs, work as a network service, and send e-mail alerts. Perhaps most mportantly, it can automatically force an overheated system to hibernate, protecting both the hard drive and unsaved data. You also can run this application as a network service, making this tool ideal for corporate networks.
Version 1.4.206 fixes a bug with the WD Raptor.

Version: HDD Temperature 1.4.206
"gd meter for reading temperature"
Pros: nice little program to display temperature on the notification area. like the option to change its color as the default is too bright.
Cons: think uninstaller has some problem...but well...not going to uninstall it anywayz.

Version: HDD Temperature 1.4.206
Pros: It installed, I thought it sounded fun, but I couldn't run it for whatever reason. But that's beside the point.
Cons: Could NOT uninstall. You can delete the files manually, even the folder, but you can NOT remove this frakin thing from your "add/remove programs" list. And I'm halfway decent with computers. Even tried other add/remove software. Didn't work. Please avoid! And please remove from my add/remove list!!! AAARGH. One of the few truly bad downloads from CNET I've tried.

Version: HDD Temperature 1.4.206
Cons: It never 'started' after I ran it - it just froze. I had to try several uninstall programs to uninstall, as windows wouldn't uninstall. After those attempts and deleting registry entries, I somehow got rid of it.

Version: HDD Temperature 1.4.206
Pros: Nothing much. Better software is available for free.
Cons: Unable to uninstall it. If you use the Add/Remove Programs from my PC's Control Panel, the process freezes after a while, and removing the folder doesn't work, since there is a HDD-proccess running. And you're not allowed to end this proccess. And you can't ask for help on their website, since when you puch the "send" button, you're sent to an 404-page.
