Publisher's description of Gravity Well
From Software Engineering:Gravity Well is a fast-paced real-time strategy game of interplanetary war. An interstellar economy supports the discovery and conquest of new worlds. You must scout new planets and establish landing sites. Freighters are then dispatched to begin construction of a base and colony complex. Beware though you are not alone. There are others with the same designs on this sector of space as you have. Be prepared to fight for every stinking dirt ball. Gravity Well can be played solitaire or by up to four players on a network. An Internet server helps players locate other players.
CNET Editor's Note: The trial game ends when one of the players is defeated. Tech upgrades to your ship are limited. Game Save/Load is disabled.

Version: Gravity Well 5.2
"Very good game that needs some work"
Pros: First of all, it's not really 30 dollars, it's only $10 if you check their site. Second, it is very fast paced with excellent map orienting options. This game is fun due to it's strategic nature, but is still considered an action game, since you are not commanding a vast array of units. Taking gravity and inertia into consideration is a must, and the one who masters this masters the galaxy.
Cons: What this game lacks is in-game editability. Though the extra powerups are really cool (especially the fusion bomb), there is no telling what powerup an upgrade will give you. Supposing you have a heavy cannon and want to keep it, every time you upgrade you risk losing what you have for something else. Also, faster weapons such as the pulse laser have the tendency to travel through your target due to bad hit detection and low frame rate. Your opponents can also turn more smoothly than you, which means in a dogfight they are more accurate.
