This image editor earns kudos for its impressive feature set. Before it launches, FxFoto offers to scan your PC for images and gives you the option to view a detailed tutorial. When we first saw the cluttered interface, we were wary, but we figured out how to perform all the actions in no time.
FxFoto has just about every image-editing tool most folks will need. You can automatically or manually improve shots, remove red-eye and blemishes, apply a number of effects, add frames and borders, correct colors, and alter white balance. FxFoto supplies a standard set of drawing tools and lets you add captions to any of your shots. The handy zoom tool provides a great deal of control over magnification. Once you've tweaked pictures to your liking, you can create a slide show with transitions, though you can't add your own music or narration unless you upgrade to the pay version.
You also can design a photo collage and share it via e-mail, burn it to CD, or upload it to one of several sharing sites. Best of all, FxFoto is free, making it a fine tool for lightweight image-editing tasks.

Version: FxFoto 6.0.071
Pros: It has a standard free version, and probably has the basics.
Cons: I found the pop ups very annoying, and I understand that is because it is a freebie. The layout and the written menu choices were complicated hard to figure out, as they are so different than any photo editor that I have ever seen.
Summary: There are better free photo editors out there. This one was not very well planned, and even the Crop option left remnants along the edge. I had to crop the picture three times to get a smooth edge.

"Just thought I'd try FXFOTO..."
Pros: At the moment FXFOTO does all I want but being the "trial" version I have to Print Screen to save my results which is adequate for smallish pics.
Cons: I can't think of any "cons" and to try to find any would be an insult to the folks who devised and market this product that I can use for free.
Summary: I really love FXFOTO as it does a brilliant job with a most user-friendly interface and when I get more proficient I shall certainly upgrade to one of the paid versions.
Well done, FXFOTO :-)) -

"Has some neat tools, some not found in other free tools"
Pros: Simple layout is easy to work with. The free version has several useful editing tools.
Cons: The intrusive reminder to purchase a full version at both start up & exiting the program. The menu leads one to think that several features are included. That is until you open a tab and the desired feature it is not accessible on the free version
Summary: The free version of this product has many useful tools that enable easy photo editing. The ability to add text is useful, but limited to simple rectangular text boxes. The clone tool is very handy and complements the other five tools under the cor... read more >>
