  Did, in fact, open a PDF file.

  Read the PDF as a (grainy) image, when it was text in adobe. I would guess that Adobe has text recognition of some sort, while this one just reads exactly what was scanned in. Installed "Chromium" which then opened my existing Chrome install, changing all the search preferences. This is after I declined the various "offers." Only noticed because in windows 10 I have my Chrome profile pinned to the bar-- and it was opening as if it were a different program, but was still on my profile. Then I noticed the changed search results. I don't know what else it did, when I noticed that my search was changed to yahoo I went and found that Yahoo, Ask.com, Safesearch and Conduit (!!!) had been added. I haven't even done a malware scan yet.

  Summary

  If you've got a machine you don't care about unwanted program changes on, go for it.

  Installing the right type of PDF reader tool is essential to view these files. Free PDF Reader app is the perfect choice for this purpose. I had no issues while installing and using this freeware. It is one of the best tools that I have now. The features are incredible and easy to comprehend. It also includes a help file which proved really useful.

  Viewing PDF files is no more an issue for me because I have now installed this Free PDF Reader. I could install the app easily, thanks to the tutorial on it that hand-held me throughout the process.

  Pros

  there are no hassles once you have installed the Free PDF Reader tool on your comp. It is an excellent program that is designed to view PDF files easily. It has a small tutorial which can be used easily.

  Cons

  it lacks advanced options. However, it has no malware.

  In the earlier version, I could save the file for future reading. With this version, the saved file does not open. I can view the downloaded PDF file, however, it cannot be stored for future archiving. I shall remove it and find some other alternate that serves my purpose. Bye bye PDF Reader.

  Waste of time if downladed, specially, when better free alternates are available.

  Fraudulently claims it is FREE yet it is CLEARLY ad-ware! Their website blocked by anti-virus AND web security programs as MALWARE!!! SO, if you download via CNET's ad-ware supported downloader TRIPLES your problems! Doesn't integrate with windows (support drag and drop) Basic links in PDF files, like email addresses, don't do anything (i.e. are inactive). Doesn't integrate with Firefox as well as the free Foxit HARD TO REMOVE!!!

  Summary

  I agree chuckellerslie, "The gap between this and (say) Foxit Reader is enormous - different league" NOT WORTH THE DOWNLOAD!
