"fine but has spamware"
Version: Free JavaScript Editor 4.7
Pros
The software is a mediocre editor
Cons
the program installs spamware as addins into IE.
Summary
make sure you have good virus protection
-
"Not good for more obscure JavaScript creation"
Version: Free JavaScript Editor 4.7
Pros
Easy to use, easy to type, run, and debug JavaScript code.
Cons
It can't handle some of the more technical aspects of JavaScript. For example, in the Regular Expressions, the editor can't handle
var colorText = "red,blue,green,yellow";
var colors3 = colorText.split(/[^,]+/);
alert(colors3);
but Dragonfly can.
Similarly, the Free JavaScript Editor can't handle the "this" keyword, as in
var say1 = "Level 1";
var myfunc = function(){
var say2 = "Level 2";
alert(this.say1);}
myfunc();Summary
The Free JavaScript editor, while easy to use, is a poor learning or development tool for the more advanced features of JavaScript. I would not trust it without checking on another JavaScript development tool, such as Opera's Dragonfly, so why bother with the Free JavaScript editor in the first place?

"Works well for Javascript Editing"
Version: Free JavaScript Editor 4.7
Pros
Easy to use, easy to find and use standard code templates, fast.
Cons
None I am aware of.
Summary
The program met my needs well and provides a good tool for creating, editing, and managing JavaScript code libraries and specialized JavaScript files.

"No nonsense editor"
Version: Free JavaScript Editor 4.7
Pros
Simple,intuitive HTML,CSS,Javascript editor. Works as expected. Good tool for beginners and intermediate web designers. Tag reference and insertion speed up work flow. Good tool to use with tutorials and examples.
Cons
User must know at least the bare basics of html css and javascript

"Encourages Good JavaScript Programming Practices"
Version: Free JavaScript Editor 4.7
Pros
Better coding by validation, and example. Free JavaScript Editor, by Yaldex, integrates a local version of JSLint such that the user might learn to improve javascript coding practices. It's a great tool, at no cost.
Cons
NAME GAME: If abbreviated as "FJSE", the bells-n-whistles shareware edition "First JavaScript Editor", is easily confused with "Free JavaScript Editor". Be careful not to confuse the "Free" with the "First", both by Yaldex. Confusing name convention
Summary
One might question: Why a so-called "JavaScript Editor", when it would seem that most any editor would make a fine "javascript" editor? I asked myself the same question-- an intriguing question, and likely why many users have tried it. The answer; what I believe separates FJSE from other text editors is its inclusion of an advanced JS Debugger, and the introduction of JSLint, a free js app available at jslint.com.
Yaldex "Free JavaScript Editor" (as well as the oft confused, "First JavaScript Editor", a shareware by the same developer) integrates a local version of JSLint such that the user might learn to improve javascript coding practices. It's a great tool, at no cost. -

"Software is great, who sells it who made it not great"
Version: Free JavaScript Editor 4.7
Pros
The software is excellent. Reminiscent of that wonderful software Allaire Homesite, Destroyed by "the BIG Graphic Software Company".
Cons
The problem is the origins of the developers and those selling the product are in foreign countries, Russia , Phillipines. The concern is for lack of accountability for problems with, defective product,worries about my bank account getting hacked.
Summary
Bottom Line is I won't buy this product. I suggest until the credentials of its developer are established as bonafide, you shouldn't be offering it.
