CNET Editors' review
Some fonts are better suited for certain projects than others, but it's not always easy to preview and compare fonts to make the best decision. FontViewOK is a lightweight font viewer that lets you do exactly that. It's nothing fancy, but it's a great way to easily see what fonts look like in a variety of styles.
The program's interface is plain, consisting mostly of just a list of fonts. You can enter custom text with which to preview the fonts, and can also see what the fonts look like bolded, italicized, struck-through, and underlined, as well as in different sizes and colors. To compare fonts, you can split the screen and display side-by-side lists, making it easy to analyze the differences between fonts or find fonts that go well together. We liked that the program has the ability to print font lists, as well as a print preview feature. The only real drawback we found to FontViewOK was its lack of Help file, but this isn't a serious issue, as everything about the program is pretty intuitive. We also wished that the font list was searchable, instead of depending solely on a drop-down menu, but this is a relatively minor complaint. Overall, FontViewOK doesn't have as many features as some of the other font managers we've seen, but it's a nice, lightweight way to view and compare fonts.
FontViewOK comes as a ZIP file and is accessible after extraction with no need for installation. We recommend this program to everyone.

No split screens

Summary
I have tried other font viewer programs, some more complicated or cluttered than others. Some required several steps to get to the final effect(s) I wanted. This program is all in one window - no need to refer to a split window. It is very user friendly with simple drop-down menus, ability to enlarge or reduce the font using a slider, add color and effects easily. I just love this program and it's all that I need when I'm looking for just the right font to fit in perfectly with a project that I am working on.
-
"compact, user friendly, accurate."
Version: FontViewOK 2.01
Pros
Not crammed full of all the bells and whistles I don't need. Easy to navigate around.
Cons
None. This program is just what I needed.
Summary
If you are looking for a font viewer that loads, for the most part, just about every font included and loaded into the OS, this is it. It provides more than a one or two word sample of how the font looks and gives samples of BOLD, Italic, etc., if it is included in the original font's styles. I recommend this program if you are looking for something that is simple and clean.

"Did exactly what I needed - side by side comparisions"

-
"Perfectly Simple Font Viewer"
Version: FontViewOK 1.31
Pros
Fast & Easy.
Single file; no installation.
User-defined sample text & size.Cons
None really.
Summary
There are so many font viewers available that it's impractical to install and test them all. I'm always on the lookout for simple apps that don't involve and installation, so you just download, open and evaluate. If you don't like it or it's not what your looking for, all you need do is delete the single file.

"Very nice utility to view installed fonts."
Version: FontViewOK 1.12
Pros
I'm the first to download FontViewOK. It works just fine and I like that it doesn't have to be installed. A nice little utility that's very useful and a lot better than using Control panel>Fonts to view installed fonts.
Cons
Only checks installed fonts in C:\Windows\Fonts folder. No capability to browse to other folders to view fonts prior to installation.
