Publisher's description of Folder Comparison
From Sword-Sharp Software:From the developer: "If you work on the same set of files both at home and at work, then you usually transfer these files on a floppy disk, a zip disk or some other kind of removable media. In this case, did you ever find yourself in the position of not remembering where the latest version of these files is stored? And did you ever need a utility that could compare these files, print the results of the comparison, save and recall the twenty recently compared paths, synchronize the files you want to compare, let you compare only the common files of two directories and let you view the Windows system info about your PC? But most important of all, did you ever want such a utility at the cost of a single Smile? If your answer to all the above is YES, then this utility is for YOU. Download it, Install it and Enjoy it.
"After reviewing your comments and suggestions, we believe that this new version will make you happier. With this version, you can filter the files that are going to be compared, according to their attributes, type and level number of the structure in which they are located. You can compare only the common files. You can display only the differences. You have the ability to exclude the folder structures you don't want to compare. You can compare not only structures that are located on the local computer but even structures of remote computers that are NOT directly connected to each other! You can print the results or save them in a plain text file. You can use any search string to search the results. You can get an interpretation of the results in plain english (or greek). You can save, restore and edit an unlimited number of paths you compare on a regular basis. You can import and export the settings (INI file and saved paths) of the application. You can set the start in folder of the application. And finally, you can view the Windows system info about your PC."
This update features several new features and enhancements.

Version: Folder Comparison 2002
Pros: Nothing
Cons: After uninstalling, it messed up my ActiveX. Almost had to reinstall Office!

Version: Folder Comparison 2002
"Does the job once you learn the interface"
Pros: Simple functionality which installs fine, and lists the differences between two folders, with several customizable choices available. Basic help is there, in the form of mouseovers. Free!
Cons: Path name does not have enough characters in display to show entire path, if long. Interface is not straightforward and takes a few trials to learn.

Version: Folder Comparison 2002
"A pain to use, and crashed both times I used it."
Pros: Final comparison of folders good.
Cons: Works on a network, but must map first. Not as easy to use as it should be. Crashed once during folder comparison, and once unmapping a network drive.

Version: Folder Comparison 2002
Summary: too hard for me, no help files, nothing is explicit despite an apparently good graphic interface. i bet this is a good utility but the author did not want to spend time on ergonomy. what a shame !
