CNET Editors' review
This free program supplies a basic image editing toolset for everyday photographers. In terms of design, FocusViewer is attractive and well organized, with clearly marked icons for performing most major actions. Clicking the Edit button brings up another window with limited editing options, such as rotate, crop, and resize, as well as remove red-eye. If you're looking for a more creative slant, you'll appreciate this app's nifty effects, including FilmGrain, Threshold, Mosaic, and Splash. FocusViewer also can capture screenshots, create basic slide shows, and prepare your shots for the printing process. You can send photos via e-mail, but that's the only sharing option at your disposal. Still, since FocusViewer won't cost you a cent, we can recommend it to all but professional users who need the maximum amount of power.Publisher's Description
From FocusSoft:
FocusViewer provides a complete solution for photos. You can easily view, enhance, and organize photos, prepare size and quantity, and sum up the price for printing. You can select different slide-show modes and starting points, set wallpaper with a calendar, make a screen capture by means of a delayed schedule or hot keys, and create a contact sheet as an index of a number of photos. With the editor, you can rotate, crop, resize, and add effects to enhance photos. Red-eye reduction is provided. When photos are e-mailed to friends, they can easily be converted into JPEGs to reduce file size.
Previewing helps you make better arrangements. Special attention has been given to preparing photos for the printing service. It's easy to customize photos by freely cropping and shrinking. The Print Prepare function lists available print sizes for each photo. You can key in the unit price for the size and quantity of each photo to get a total sum, then export and send them to the printing service.

"A basic program for editing pictures"
Version: Focusviewer 2.1
Pros
- Easy to use
- User friendly
- Does what you want it to do in a very simple wayCons
- Crashes when cropping. Had to hit crtl+alt+del to be able to close it.
- Can't use backspace to edit the resolution number. You have to highlight and rewrite.Summary
I use this program because it is faster to load than photoshop when I just need to quickly resize or crop a picture. However, when I'm cropping and trying to resize the crop window, that's when it fails and a window pops up and keeps coming and coming until I have way too many windows to click "ok" on that I just use ctrol+alt+del to close the program and stop the windows alert noise from driving me crazy!
It's a shame because I really like this program and I used to use it a lot before this crashing started happening. I had version 2.0 and thought that by downloading the newest version, it was going to be fixed. Boy was I wrong... -
"Not enough options"
Version: Focusviewer 2.1
Pros
The things I like about it are already incorporated in Picasa. However, it does do everything it claims to do.
Cons
Not enough options. It lacks in better more advanced ways of editing photos (and I understanding this is not a high priced fully loaded program).
Summary
Honestly I prefer using Google's Picasa (great program) and either Gimp or PhotoShop Elements.
Picasa is free however Elements will set you back a bit (not nearly as much as the full highly professional versions of regular PhotoShop but pretty darn close the same. -
"Program crashed within minutes of opening !"
Version: Focusviewer 2.1
Pros
Iniatially the program looked great but as soon as I tested the crop feature I had to stop testing because of the crashes.
Cons
As soon as I selected a crop range, it immediately went into a continuous loop of program crashes which would not stop until I used Task Manager to kill it. So I have to remove the program as this has never happened to me before with software.
Summary
Looked good for the few minutes I saw it. Wish I could have had a chance to check it out properly before the crashes. May re-evaluate if a new version comes out.

"Easy Download and Instatllation"
Version: Focusviewer 2.1
Pros
Easy interface and the Screen Capture function works great!
Cons
Edit functions are too limited. They could have included cropping, deleting and resizing. Lastly, Slide show should include a Manual Option.
-
"Good photo organizer."
Version: Focusviewer 2.1
Pros
Easy to use, good controls.
Cons
Freezes for about 10 seconds when resizing, cropping, or flipping an image.
Sometimes crashes when closing.

"crap"
Version: Focusviewer 2.1
Pros
one pro~one of the effects is cool.
Cons
I despise this software, difficult to use, annoying, constantly freezing, croping function doesn't work.

"A basic, easy-to-use picture display program"
Version: Focusviewer 2.1
Pros
Easy to use. Nice "tip of the day" feature. Mouseover to the left of the view pane and you will see one of the best displays of picture EXIF information of any similar program. A nice set of picture "effects" is available (crayon, mosaic, add noise, etc).
Cons
No Help (nothing happened when I clicked on menu selection Help). No pan or zoom. No audio file capability. No meaningful picture captioning. No picture transition effects. Limited picture editing ability. Improving the English would improve readability.

"Fast navigation with clear images"
Version: Focusviewer 2.1
Summary
I use this as primary browser/viewer even though my final edit is in PSP or Photoshop. You can quickly review pictures and test lighting, color, sharpness and many other effects. New version adds important functions like rotate, crop, and redeye. I only wish it would directly load image into my editor.

"Does what you want it to. Very handy!"

This is a great program. I wanted something better than Windows Photo Editor, and this program fit the bill. Great value!
