doesn't take over the browser like other download managers tend to do.
Cons
i have to battle the program when it comes to a specific download folder. after setting the download folder I want it works fine for a while. Then it suddenly begins dropping the downloads into a different folder and I have to go back in and reset the download folder. Then its fine for a while and then switches download folders again. I dropped it in favor of another manager.

too much hassle for it to be worth it.

Summary
I've only been using this for about a week. So far it seems to work fairly well. It will hog bandwidth if you don't limit it, but I guess that's OK if you want to get maximum download speed. My biggest gripe is that it insists on making a default download directory "C:\Downloads\". You can change the drive it saves to, but if you want it to save anywhere but "n:\Downloads\" you have to change it every time you start a new download.

Summary
This version cannot save the username and password in the fields. I write everytime my rapidshare accound in these fields and click save button but when I open again and see fields are empty. For me it is an amateur bug and also when I first install program it opens in chinese language which my pc not supported so i coud not see the letters for choose english. Anyway all about this version I hate already and still using that wonderful old flashget 1.9.6.

VIRUS ATTACK - It was a Very Good Download manager UNTIL it has been Hijacked by some viruses today on April 06/2010...
Cons
Today Flashget (v3.3) had been Hijacked by Trojan Virus from Asia and IT requested you to install the new upgrade v3.4 which is Full of Viruses. difficult to Uninstall from Add/Remove utility since the Default language is either Chinese or Japanese.

As I indicated above, this program used to bve SO GOOD!
It really was THE download manager, at a time when the only real contenders were DAP or this. This won hands down and was amazing.
I got rid of it in the end when they introduced bit torrent support. I found that it kept associating itself with my torrent files and utorrent wouldn't always be called up when I clicked a torrent...it got irritating so I uninstalled flashget and that was that. Lately I have been wanting a DL manager for DL'ing from rapidshare and sites like that so I went looking again.
I tried IDM and a few other freebies but most of them have problems DL'ing from those sites!!
I have installed Flashget and to my joy it can DL from RS and some other sites I just tested so that is great.
What is not great is the way this program has changed. It doesn't seem like the same people have been working on it or something.. Although all the base parts are still there, the floating monitor box, the handy batch add dialogue when you copy a load of links to the clipboard (something orbitdownloader claims to do but fails so often it hurts!), the categories, the graphic download display and some other bits n pieces..
Yet it lacks something. It lacks quite a lot it seems. There is hardly any info on most buttons, dialogues etc.
I find myself wondering if this is really all there is to the program. Not because I need something to be complicated to think its any good..hehe no! It is just that I 'KNOW and remember what this program had going for it before so I wonder why or where they hid everything!
Should I be recommending this in this review or not..Hmm
OK yes, I would say get this program if you want a good solid DL manager that only fails sometimes...from my experience the other freebies fail a whole lot more times!
One thing I HATE though - there is a section of the interface that you cannot get rid of, sometimes cannot even resize it and it has full banner looking ads in there...oh yes under the guise of being the flashget software recommendation area but come on...
I know people need to earn a living but then why is it I get so annoyed by ads that I will do anything to avoid them?
Like even uninstalling a half decent program because it bugs me with constant ads!!!
(I am not sure if the ads use the net connection to update and change their content, I didn't test it yet, they may just be static and show the same ads forever. Either way I don't like it.
Good program, bad ads!
