Video-hosting sites like YouTube are also a great source of free tunes. Even if the audio quality isn't usually the best, at least you can hear the song you're searching for, maybe with a video of a turntable spinning the vinyl original. You can save the YouTube vid, but to play the tune on your MP3 player or add it to your MP3 collection, you'll need to extract the audio. Cassiopeia's FLV to MP3 Free Converter not only does the job, but it also comes bundled with a similar (and similarly simple) tool: FLV to AVI WMV MPEG Free Converter. Together they make it easy to convert Flash files into MP3 audio files or widely compatible video formats.
An ad-supported splash screen let us choose Convert to AVI or Convert to MP3; we chose the latter. FLV to MP3 Free Converter has a plain but efficient and easy-to-read interface; a square dialog box with simple controls and a file list. The bottom half contains MP3 audio settings, including Bitrate, Frequency, and Channels. A helpful feature lets you tell the program what to do when output files already exist: Auto-rename, Overwrite, or Skip.
We loaded a Flash video clip saved from YouTube, selected our output options, and pressed Start. FLV to MP3 Free Converter processed our file with speed. We clicked the converted file, and it played normally in our usual media player. The sound quality was better than we expected, considering the low-fi original, the Web download, and the file conversion -- certainly not dramatically worse than the average MP3. You get a chance to try out the previous good Windows installation option on your OS
Cons
Not many. Only a small, kind of troublesome problem called Claro - which is a kind of Malware that hijacks your browser among other things, and is near to impossible to get rid of unless you want to go back to a previous working installation of your OS, or just reformat your computer and reinstall Windows or whatever you might running on it.

Infected with virus that hijacks your browser. Was using firefox 18.0.1 and it kept changing my search bar in the top right to yahoo. Tried to change back to google from the drop down menu but it stayed on yahoo. Tried manually removing add-ons or uninstalling the convertor but neither worked. Had to use system restore.

I don't know if there's any con because as soon as my browser got hijacked I was too busy trying to remove it. Didn't even try it once.
Cons
The previous reviewer was correct. This download comes with a nasty malware Claro that will hijack your browser. I did un-check all the default boxes before downloading but as soon as the download was completely my Kaspersky detected the malware and deleted part of it. I went to uninstall everything and rest my default browser but no matter what I did Claro was still there every time I open a browser. I ran a full scan using Malwarebytes but couldn't find it anywhere yet Claro kept coming back. Not until I found a tutorial video on Youtube to show me where the malware was hiding, it was then I finally removed it for good.
Summary
I am very disappointed with CNET. It's no longer safe downloading freebies here. Now you've been warned, download at your own risk.

It works, does what it says & that's all, lots of similar programs.
Cons
Be very careful what you click on when downloading via CNET now, leave the wrong box ticked & you'll suddenly by bombarded with Claro Malware that will do much much more than you suspect. Easiest way to remove it is drastic, go back previous good windows backup :(
