    "Great Program, Thanks to Developers"

    May 02, 2005   |   By jmonee84

    Version: FFView 0.8.5

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I have been using this program to read manga for the past few months, and I just want to say that it has made my manga reading a whole lot more pleasant. Previously, I had to resort to an antiquated version of ACDSEE that was short on features and big on bugs, yet now, I can read my manga files in comfort. The only problem that I have is that there is no good way of getting rid of the voice command prompt if I don't want it there. That small issue aside, I want to give my sincerest thanks to the developers. You and your program really embody the spirit of what it means to use a Mac. Thanks again.

    "Excellent for presentations"

    February 21, 2005   |   By kornball

    Version: FFView 0.8.5

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
From the Using Apps in Unintended Ways department: I recently needed to display a series of large JPEGs in a presentation and this fit the bill perfectly for its speed and features. FFView allowed me to switch quickly and easily between different parts of several different images without having the view revert to "zoom to fit" each time, as would be the case in most graphic viewers.

Why use software of this sort instead of a 'real' presentation app? Because using a variety of different apps allows for more lively and nonlinear presentations, such as showing different images side by side or typing comments directly on the screen. FFView works well under these conditions, allowing the presenter to bring up different groups of images and display them efficiently.

"Excellent - UItra Fast - FREE!"

    Version: FFView 0.8.2

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Hands down the best comic book reader on all platforms. Blazing fast - easy to use - great options. If I had the chance to change something, that would be the ability to go to the next or previous image with a single button (eg PgUP and PgDn) instead of the combination keys command + [ or ]. Also it would be nice if it could be implemented in the images, the number of the page and the total number of images (eg 4/24).. And that is that!
I suggest it wholeheartedly to anyone reading comics or want to view pics / slideshow. Very stable app too!

    "Best Manga Viewer Around"

    October 25, 2004   |   By VersionTrackerUserOpinion

    Version: FFView 0.8.1

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Well, I haven't actually gotten my hands on the updated 0.8.1 version, I did use the 0.8 release last night and it worked when force hardware render was on. That being said, the dual images on screen at once is a really great thing and also adds to the implied suspence in some manga. After zooming through some Bleach manga last night I can safely say that with this update, FFView is and will remain the best manga viewer for MacOS X.

    "Perfect Manga Reader"

    August 28, 2004   |   By VersionTrackerUserOpinion

    Version: FFView 0.7

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I really like this program as a manga reader. It helps me blaze through manga like it was nothing and I dont have to become detracted from the storyline by opening individual files. The only thing that it didnt have was dual pictures per viewing for a more coherent manga viewing experience. all in all it was a great application that rivals anything on the mac, as well as ACDSee on the PC for ease of use when reading manga.

    "Great Viewer for Manga!!!!"

    July 18, 2004   |   By babgolis

    Version: FFView 0.6

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This is a great little program that will only get better. FFView is far superior to Comical for a number of reasons: 1. It's MUCH faster. 2. It allows you to browse several archives at once & reorder the files as you see fit. 3. The developer seems to be hell-bent on continuing it's development.

I hope the next release will allow for global image viewing preferences - you have to reset the view-size after each quit.

I've had a few hangups, but i think they were due to poor encoding in the first place. Simply expanding & reencoding the files fixed the problem every time.

Five stars are in FFView's future I'm sure.

Well done... I look forward to support this program!
