This little gadget displays the current temperatures of the entire European continent, but it's not nearly as useful as you'd expect. Europe Temperature Map is available online as a Microsoft gadget for Internet Explorer 6 users only. The tool loads immediately, displaying a smaller-than-expected color-coded map of Europe, complete with a corresponding color-coded temperature legend below. Unfortunately, the map's topographical markings are limited to countries only with no associated labels, making it tough for anyone but geography experts to identify locations. In addition, the program doesn't zoom in on a particular destination or let users view or save numerical readings or other temperature-related data. Even though it's free, its features and functionality are too limited to be of substantial use to anyone with more than a passing interest in European weather.
