As its name suggests, this application provides a database of engine oils for reference purposes, but some features are disabled during the trial. Engine Oil Selector's functional interface lets you manage its database of more than 200 varieties of oil products from 22 brands. The database includes a full range of oil properties for a variety of viscosities--0w20, 5w20, 0w30, 5w30, 10w30, 0w40, 5w40, 10w40, 15w40, 20w40, 5w50, 10w50, 15w50, and 20w50--but database items are all demo data. You can opt to add your own items to its database, but save, backup, and restore features are locked during trial. A robust feature is the filter option, which allows you to define several specific parameters that will provide more focused search results. An appreciated bonus is the program's built-in ranking capability, which lets you identify high-quality oil brands. Automotive enthusiasts, quality-conscious consumers, and do-it-yourselfers will certainly appreciate what Engine Oil Selector 2005 has to offer.
