Once you've identified the nature of the bottleneck, you can view the execution plan for any resource hogging SQL execution plans are provided in tree, grid, and text-only formats and include the essential filter and access predicate information available in 9i Release 2. Using 9i Segment Statistics empower! can even show you the exact I/O in blocks that occurs on each table and index in your SQL statement during execution, including blocks fetched from other caches in a RAC cofiguration.
