CNET Editors' review
Online translators can be inconvenient and inaccessible. Easy Translator for Mac provides a quick and simple way to translate text between many languages. This program is also able to identify unknown languages that are in its database.
Easy Translator for Mac allows you to translate written passages between more than 60 languages. The interface of the program is similar to many online translation sites. You simply places the text to be translated directly into the upper box and the translated version appears in the lower box. It is easy to switch the languages, and the program is able to detect the original language if you are unsure. The final translation is available in both print and audio forms. You can save the translation and the original text in both MP3 and text forms. You can also e-mail both the translation and original passage directly from the program. Unfortunately, the program does not handle grammar and punctuation consistently. The free trial gives full access to the program and lasts for 14 days. A license can be purchased for $79.95.
Easy Translator for Mac is a useful translation program with the added benefit of audio playback. This program is suitable for travel and personal use but lacks the grammar knowledge to be used for longer texts or business purposes.

"Don't get fooled by this company!"
Version: Easy Translator 7.0.2
There's nothing good about this piece of crap.
I'm surprised that Cnet gives such a piece of software - which actually should be considered malware - a stage.
This software is nothing but a "mini browser", using Google's and Bing's translation engines. One needs to be online in order to use it which makes it idiotic to use it because one could also use the respective pages of Google and Bing directly. To charge $80 for such nonsense is more than outrageous.
Moreover, Cnet lists Lmhsoft as the "develeoper" which is simply wrong. The "developer" of this crap is an anonymous entity by the name acetools.net.
"Easy to translate any language"
Version: Easy Translator 5.4
Copy and paste what you need translated. Really simple to use. Translation is correct for most languages.
Sometimes the translation is not correct and does not make sense. there is no way to introduce new words into it so it will learn.
Overall, a great software if you need something more than just one line translated.
"It's far to be perfect, but it helps enormous,"
Version: Easy Translator 5.3
When you have a certain knowledge of the language you try to translate into, it's a real help. It performs also with correct accents, so some can work with copy/paste and arrange nonsense after
Some translations are really making LOL!
"Does not support customers for upgrades"
Version: Easy Translator 4.1
I thought it was ok but a little buggy for translating phrases. Usually I use google for that or babelfish (online) but i wanted something for my computer. That's why i got it.
It stopped working so I decided to download it. I downloaded a later version and it wanted me to buy it all over again. Bad customer support :-(
Don't bother. I wish there was something else on the market that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Oh well I guess i'll go online.
"Existence of new version wrecks your older version."
Version: Easy Translator 4.1
Reasonable good translator if you keep your original sentences short and simple.
Shortly after the inevitable offer to "upgrade" began appearing on my ET V3 software, it became unusable because several strings of meta data were suddenly added to each translated sentence.
The developer shouldn't be trusted to support its software. It basically sabotaged my existing application in hopes of selling me the new version. Spend $60.00 today and maybe it will work for a year and maybe it won't, all subject to the whim of the developer. An e-mail to the developer asking what happened gets this reply: "The real cause of the problem: the language translation engines now switched to a new format, which is not supported in old versions."
I've had mine for less than a year and I'm going Google.
Version: Easy Translator 3.1.3
Integrates 41 international languages.
This app does nothing but submit language pair requests to Google translate. It looks as if it was programmed by a beginner following a tutorial out of a book. It might be blocked at any time if you use it too much, since Google uses rate limiting.
Version: Easy Translator 2.9
easy to translate
