Duplicate E-mail Remover is powerful and flexible tool intended for the search and processing of duplicated mail messages in Microsoft Outlook folders. Add-in processes both email messages and posts in mail-type Microsoft Outlook folders. You can use Duplicate E-mail Remover to find mail message copies both in one folder and in different folders. A duplicate message found can be: marked with a flag, deleted, copied or moved to any folder you choose. So, you can easily test the add-in and preview the messages to delete.
A priority system in the add-in is used when you search for duplicates across several folders. Using the priority system, you can specify, for example, that of the two identical messages stored in the folders "Important Letters" and "Temporary Folder", it is the message from the temporary folder that should be considered the duplicate and hence needs to be deleted (marked, moved). Duplicate Email Remover is fully compatible with Microsoft Exchange Server and may be used to process public folders on a server. Also, if you have permission to connect to mailboxes of other users, you can process mailboxes of other users as well as your own mailbox.
What's new in this version: Version 2.17 fixed problem with the processing of additional exchange server mailboxes.

Turns out I have 18000 emails with 8000 of them duplicates! The program ran through them pretty quickly, with a visual running list so you can "check as you go." Easy to use and comprehensive but ...
Cons
The Free Trial only deletes 10 emails at a time, which is pretty lame. I'd like to see how it really works.

Pros
Once I finally got this working I found it was pretty much exactly what I needed. It provides a nice easy toolbar button to run the duplicate checker. Set it up to scan the folders you want duplicates removed from, tell it what to do with the duplicates and let it rip.
Cons
Had a lot of trouble getting it to accept my license key after I purchased it, went around with their support over a few days and eventually discovered that the version I just downloaded was an old version which was not compatible with the key I just purchased (??) They gave me a direct download link to latest version and voila!
I'm also not so fond of the folder selection interface, I'd really like to see an easy button that just checks the currently open folder for duplicates. This is really a very minor complaint though, if it had worked right away (or at least been fixed by their support team within 24 hours) I probably would be giving this 5 stars.

Since eliminating the problem of receiving duplicate email messages via a POP3 email account at its source is not feasible, a good workaround that I've just found is MapiLab's Duplicate Email Remover Program. It scans the individually selected Outlook Folders, and moves the duplicates to a new "Duplicate Emails" folder that I've created. On a new dual-core centrino computer under Windows Vista Ultimate and Outlook 2007, it takes approx. 2 minutes to scan over 2000 messages, and move any duplicates found.
I do have a library of 30,000+ outlook email messages that I've accumulated over 5 years amongst various archive .pst files, and it did take over 30 minutes to scan all of it. It did track down about 1500 dups, and moved them to the duplicate folder. I am pleased with it, and at $15 for a single-user license, the price is right.

Fast and easy to use. It got the job well done. It has many options and works very well. I purchased it!
Cons
Cheaper. Inlude their other duplicate program to search for other duplicates together with this program. I think it is pointless to have two separate plug-ins other than to make more money.
