Version: Dr.Web CureIt 5.0
"Helped, but did not solve the problem"
Pros: Random filename allowed CureIt to run when others would not.
Removed Adware.Gdown, Siggen, Vevat.Cons: Did not remove Virtumod / Vundo.gen.ab trojan.
Summary: I had the Virtumod or Vundo.gen.ab trojan. CureIt would find the infected DLL and remove it, but it did not find the other part of the trojan that would instantly replace the removed DLL with another infected DLL.

Version: Dr.Web CureIt 5.0
"Essential addion to antivirus and anti malware arsenal"
Pros: got rid of win32:virut56 wich was supposed to be incurable. Avast, norton, kaspersky 10, avg all failed to even detect virut. Also it cure the infected files instead of deleting them.
Cons: no live protection, making it suspect able to infection. Best time to use it is after a clean install before installing anything else preventing an infected exe to spread the virus.
Summary: Use it to detect and cure viruses you never knew existed on your files.

Summary: I got infected with Virut, which is incurrable, it infects the memory of your harddrive and nothing will get rid of it, none of the anti-virus programs, not Super AntiSpyware, not Malwarebytes, nothing. Malwarebytes spent days emailing me back and ... read more >>
