Download2Home is a unique client application that works in conjunction with a free Web service at Download2Home.com. It lets you download any file directly to your home computer (or wherever the client is installed) from anywhere on the Web. Download2Home also integrates with some popular download managers as well as with eDonkey and Overload.

Download speeds do increase with Download2Home, but installation and reliability scores are low. First, you must register on the developer's site before using the program, though registration is free. You'll also have to restart your PC before the program really starts to work its magic. Downloads are impressively faster than normal, but disconnects are frequent and, worse, go unannounced. Moreover, the program is fickle about which downloads are supported. This uncertainty alone is enough to turn us off. Patient downloaders may find all this worth the increased transfer speeds, but Download2Home isn't the best option out there.
