Version: Doom Jdoom package 1.7.14
"5 stars: I highly recommend this product!!!"
Pros: The controls for setting up this doom generator are a little difficult.
But, who cares???
Once it's running it improves graphics, lighting, sound, controls, etc.
Wow!!!
What an improvement!!!

"bring back the golden oldies!"
Pros: the jdoom package is a intelligent peice of software that basically turns doom and a few other games from blocky dos graphics to opengl/direct x graphics
the improvements are amazing,althought he original game was a cult game played by millions of players worldwide,this makes the experience a bit less stressfull on the eyes,graphics are smooth and the audio is fantastic,no more p.c speaker sounds
will play on basically any graphic card made after 2000,i have tried this game on a geforce 3/geforce 4/ati radeon 9250/ati radeon 9550/geforce 622 and finally a geforce 6600gt and all were fine
as brismythepti said "why cant they do this with all old dos games"make a programs or emulator which turns old games graphics into direct x/opengl
great game

"Does more than switch out the graphics"
Pros: Nice job overall, a little hard to tell the difference at first, though they are a lot clearer and whatnot and I can see that you put quite a bit of time into this mod; The thing I like the most about it though is all of the options you get when you start up the game;
Cons: None, except that I was hoping the left and right keys would automatically strafe while you could look w/ the mouse, like a "normal" FPS, but other than that you did a nice job;

"one smart piece of usefull software"
Pros: jdoom is so easy to use,you have a dropdown box and once you pick one of the 8 or so games it will search your hard drive for it,once found it changes the old 95 blocky graphics for open gl rendered graphics ,ok the gameplay stays the same but i found it a tad bit better to play and you only need a 64mb card to get frame rates up in the 60s and 70s
the other games include hexen and heretic which can both be found on this website
just take your time installing jdoom ,also the audio is much improved ,a very clever piece of work
Cons: nothing really but it would be intresting to adopt this kind of program on more dos and older games ,i think it wuold be a sure bet it wpold sell well as most people i know still play the old games as you cant beat them
