When it comes to faithfully viewing and rendering a Microsoft Office or iWork document on your iPhone or iPod Touch, Documents To Go quickly proves its competence by delivering crisp, clear reproductions of your Word, PowerPoint, PDF, and Excel documents, and even Microsoft Office 2007 files. Most core tools to create, edit, save, and send Microsoft Word and Excel documents are tucked within expanding tool menus. Tools include Apple's copy/paste, font and paragraph style, and lists, among others. Many are intuitive, but some require some trial and error before you become familiar with which icons do what.
In addition to the iPhone app, Documents To Go gives you the option of downloading a free companion desktop application that syncs files and folders between your iPhone and Windows or Mac computer. You can also drag items into a desktop folder for a quick sync. Syncing worked well, but the setup was slightly laborious, and the Wi-Fi requirement to initiate a sync shuts out home and corporate users who get their Internet from an Ethernet cable. You'll pair the desktop by pressing the Settings button, selecting "add new desktop," and punching in the four-digit passcode.
While the desktop companion helps make the office suite more useful, its Wi-Fi requirement puts a crimp in its usability. However, those who work predominantly with Word and Word applications and those with ample wireless connections will find Documents To Go a welcome part of their productivity toolbox.

Version: Documents To Go for iPhone 2.0
"Great functionality...lacking in tech support"
Pros: Opens most all documents for editing including Word and Excel.
Cons: No user support, no way of knowing how to select multiple cells in Excel, what different buttons do until you press them, inability to open documents through other E-Mails outside of exchange.
