This simple utility allows you to easily control what other users can access on your PC. Desklock Security operates by password-protecting specified programs or system areas. The interface is just a tiny gray box with a few buttons, so most users won't have trouble finding their way around. Still, we were miffed to find the developer failed to include help files of any kind. You can configure the application to lock any program on your computer, and it can also block components found in the Start menu and the Control Panel. The utility lets you set permissions for different users but doesn't offer any advanced security features, such as an encryption tool. Still, folks on shared computers or concerned parents may like Desklock Security for its ease of use.

  "Good effort, but slows down your machine too much"

  Summary: The program itself is a great idea but it lacks good programming. On my laptop it pegs out my CPU and slows down all processes of the machine. It's only a few years old, perhaps on a brand new machine over 1ghz and 500+ ram it would work ok. So t... read more >>

  Summary: I must have test about 10 different desktop locks and none come close to this one.
