Did not repair my AVI files
I easily got past the bug reported by others: When selecting the <Original File>, the interface places an asterix (*) at the beginning and end of the filename. If you try to [Rebuild], you receive a "File not found!" error message. Simply remove the leading and trailing asterix, and it will read the file.
However, I tried Rebuilding a few AVI files, and the app was not successful. It did create a "Fixed" version of the AVI files (with a slightly different byte size), but those files would also not play correctly.
It would be interesting to see if any others can get this to repair their files after correcting the <Original File> naming issue, but it did not work for me.
Must work first to have one.
Waste of time and energy.
Spare yourself the trouble and avoid this garbage.
does not find the avi file. tried it on several
well it downloaded with ease
it simply did not work! . . . couldn't even load one file
well i dislike it because . . the purpose of downloading it was pointless if it did not do what it was made for.
None as it could not open a very ordinary .avi file to work upon.
After using both browse and drag to place the correct location of an avi in the program, it said it could not find the file to open it
The only error in the smallish avi video for which I downloaded this program as a potential fix, in the first place, is a corrupted index, which most media players can fix on the fly for viewing, but do not save, hence trying this repair program. VLC media player opens it with warning about the index, Windows Media Player plays it without any warning. But Dema DivxFix could not even "find it" when given the correct path both by dragging the item to the program's file location field and by using the program's browse function, both of which "took" the location until you tell it to start processing.
I notice that the only positive reviews for Dema DivxFix read like advertisements.
Nothing to like.
Doesn't work at all.
It's free... ;-)
Tends to 'freeze' whilst loading a (700mb) file, when it came alive again it wasn't able to read the file (error: "file not found").
NB: a similar app 'ASF-AVI-RM-WMV Repair' wás well able to fix the same file w/o a problem. This app was useless in this occasion.
It's small, simple, fast, effective and free! Couldn't be better than this!
Did not work!
I recovered a deleted AVI from an SD RAM card, and the AVI would not play. I was hoping this utility would help but when I selected the file to repair, it said file not found. I then tried a perfectly good AVI file and I got the same error. Program needs some work!

To solve the problem, you just need to remove the brackets in Original file field, e.g. C:\Documents...\example.avi instead of "C:\Documents...\example.avi"
