"Terrific as always."
Version: David's Backgammon 5.9.2
Pros
David still cares about it and responds promptly and personally when I have a problem. Computer player is expert, unlike Masques Game suite idiots.
Cons
None that I've found so far - a lot of years.
Summary
Great. If you enjoy Backgammon, get it.
-

"Serious Backgammon game"
Version: David's Backgammon 5.8.5
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
The game plays fairly well. I am getting used to it still. The synthesized voices are still a tad annoying, but the quality of the game in terms of challenging the user is excellent. I suspect I am still accepting doubles that I shouldn't, but that's part of the learning curve and par for the course.
I take David Byrem's word for it that the dice rolls are random. The damned game does seem to be luckier than me in recent games, though. -
"Great app"

I consider myself a pretty good backgammon player, played many years in tournaments and with hi regarded players.
I've been using this app for 8 or 9 years and have nothing but praise for it.
Great support, David is always on top of everything with quick response for any question.
I highly recommend.

"I recommend this game..."
Version: David's Backgammon 5.8.0
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've had registered versions of this game on both Mac and PC for many years and still I'm addicted.
Several reviewers complain that they don't win as much as they would like; I feel they should grow up and accept that life's not always fair! Just learn to play better!!
It works on OS X 10.2 as well as those listed in Versiontracker, by the way. -
"Other backgammon games don't even come close"
Version: David's Backgammon 5.6.2
Summary

Definitely the best of its kind. Its aces? Customisable to an almost infinite degree. Gameplay that suits every level of player from novice to nut. Constant updating to keep the game tuned to the user base. A responsive developer.
On the downside, the solo-player game seems to have a habit of giving me double sixes at times when I can't use them ... and more often than pure chance would suggest. The computer player also seems to enjoy kicking me more often than expected when I land in a certain position in the second quadrant, but I expect that's just my imagination. I'm hooked. -

Definitely the best of its kind. I've been playing this game for several years and am a much better player than when I started, thanks to being able to watch the computer and select move suggestions. A great teaching tool. Well done, David. Keep up the good work. -
