iCal birthday and anniversary calendars with alarms.

Dates to iCal 2 is a replacement for Apple's iCal birthday calendar that has a range of features that has made it indispensable for many iCal and Address Book users. As well as automatically syncing birthday dates from Address Book, Dates to iCal 2 can sync anniversary and custom dates. It can add up to five alarms for each birthday in iCal and the same number for anniversaries. It gives the option of only syncing from one Address Book group. This application also allows for the titles of the events sent to iCal to be modified to the user's preference including the age of the event. It also makes it easy to sync birthdays and anniversaries to an iPhone.

Localized into French, German, Italian and Spanish. Dates to iCal is able to access non local Exchange and CalDAV address books in Address Book. It has extra title formatting 'tokens'. The application is now internationalized. It uses the Sparkle framework to keep the user updated of future releases.

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />What a great app this would be if only it worked! I have lots of dates entered in Address Book. But when I started using Dates to iCal 2 it created a random mess on my iCal calendar! Some dates showed up great; others were just thrown randomly all over my calendar. If it could work consistently, it would be great, but it is so unreliable that I cannot trust the dates it inserts into iCal. They need to do a whole lot of work on this!

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />I have used Dates 2 iCal for quite along time without any trouble, untill the latest Mac OSX update. I got some script errors so I downloaded this latest version. Unfortunately this new version quit's immediately after launching, without having seen any window. I had disabled the previous version, removed every trace of it on my hard disc, but the new app is still quiting. Pitty !
