1. Emulate a virtual CD/DVD-ROM/HD DVD and BluRay drives
DAEMON Tools Lite [Commercial] enables you to emulate up to 4 CD/DVD virtual drives on your PC. Virtual drives will appear in your OS just like real ones. Select a virtual drive then choose a disc image you want to mount. Find the created virtual drive with mounted disc image in My Computer. Start working! Looks like working with a real drive and a real disc, doesn't it? Yes, but it is much faster!
2. Create a disc image
With DAEMON Tools Lite [Commercial] you can create ISO and MDS image files from original discs inserted in physical CD/DVD/HD DVD/BluRay drives. Or use images you have created earlier with other program. DAEMON Tools products work with wide spread of image types. Version 4.30.3 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, and bug fixes.

"The best software in category"
Pros: easy to use, small size
Cons: Can emulate only 4 CD/DVD virtual drives

"Been around for years, still the best."
Pros: Easy to configure, set up as many mirrors as you want. Quickly mount a disk
Cons: Catalog management is not great so if you use a lot of images you have to manage the structure yourself. Not as intuative as it could be, they essentially assume you know what you would need it for and what uses you could put it to.
Summary: If you want to mount virtual images from any recognised optical media archive this is the tool you want.

"Works well, great for netbooks"
Pros: If you don't have a DVD/CD drive, this program works well to emulate a virtual DVD/CD drive on any pc. Use it to create images of discs to store on your pc then mount that image to your new virtual drive as if you had the disc in the drive.
Cons: Not a con, but if you want to use it for movies(DVD's) it must be used with a program like DVD43. But so far ..Flawless!
