Fast
Full Menu Audio
Customizable Menu
Easy to use
Can burn directly, make an ISO for multiple disks or create a DVD folder.
Cons
No preview of the finished product before processing.
Summary
v3.0.3 worked great for me. I used both free and pay programs and wasn't happy with any. If I got the menu the way I wanted it the video was out of sync after processing. If it processed the video correctly I couldn't stand the menu. All of them cut the menu music off at 30 seconds.
I was building a memorial video shot at a funeral so I wanted a customized menu and love that all of "Amazing Grace", my menu's background music plays, all 3 minutes! I can't believe this free program does what $50+ programs couldn't.
Corrupt files

Pros
The old versions were working well.
Cons
Version 2.9.5 is out and each time I tried downloading it from Sourse Forge Google stopped it and also got a message from Avast that there were files that would corrupt my computer. I tried the portable version also and same thing happened.
Summary
Stay away from this till its fixed.
POS wasted 5 DVDs

Pros
Easy enough to use. But the outcome is crap.
Cons
When the DVD comes up, the volume cannot be adjusted. The movie does not play. Total waste of time.
Summary
Look elsewhere.
Powerful DVD authoring tool!
rasheed12824
Pros
- Includes pre-built menu templates.
- FREE!
- Open source.
- More menu customisation options then some commercial tools!
- Imports all the main video formats.
- Drag and drop support.
- Does not re-encode MPEG and VOB files unnecessarily.
- Multiple subtitle and audio track support.
- Place buttons, text, images and other graphic objects anywhere on the menu screen.
Cons
None found although even more templates would be better!
Summary
Best free DVD authoring software in existence!
Still Garbage. Just wastes discs.

Pros
Again, none that I can see.
Cons
Again, a Complete waste of time. I'm sorry I downloaded it.
Summary
After being disappointed by version 2.6 I decided to be open-minded and give 2.7.2 a chance, hoping they'd fixed what was wrong. They didn't. I can't understand either why Alex puts crap like this out or signs his name to it.
Looked so promising. So disappointing.

Pros
None that I can see.
Cons
Complete waste of time. I'm sorry I downloaded it.
Summary
It's clear that more thought went into making the interface look pretty than making it work.
Impressive

Pros
For a free program this seems to have a lot of bells and whistles. DVD Flick is awesome but its hard to use your own menus while DVDStyler you can use the custom templates or load your own. I have not tried, but it also seems to support adding music to your menus. An option also missing from DVD Flick. The main reason why I am using this instead of DVD Flick is that DVD Flick limits us to 50 titles while DVDStyler does not seem to have such a limitation. Drag and drop is a nice option but files can be added in a more old school manner if you prefer. It also seems to burn a DVD at break neck speed while yielding a high quality DVD.
Cons
Suffers from some stability problems. The program early on occasionally crashed but has been working a bit better in the few days I have used it. I suggest you save your project often. Like DVD Flick, I see no way to normalize audio so if you have numerous clips you want to play back to back, you may find yourself turning the volume up and down to a comfortable level. The program also has difficulty repositioning clips within the project. This was tested only in a project with over 50 clips and this could be the reason why. When movie a clip elsewhere in the project the program would stop responding and hang up for about a minute or longer. Unlike DVD Flick there appears to be no audio or subtitle menus so you will need to use the setup menus built into your DVD to access these options. Also the menus only show 4 clips at a time. I dont know if this is customizable but should be since more clips would fit neatly. Screen tips would also help make the program more user-friendly
Summary
Periodically save your projects and you will find this free program very satisfying. Be careful upon installing since the program defaults options to install 3rd party add-ons such as toolbars. They can be avoided if you just take a few extra seconds to read the menus a bit before clicking along towards the finish line. Its a bit hard to understand what the program is doing and why and it does not have any optional screen tips but that may not matter to you. Between this and DVD Flick you should have everything you will need to put together a great DVD.
Great Program

Pros
Theres not to many video editors out there that let you do all that Styler lets you do. You can Title each video if you have multiple ones to put on a DVD. It has a Menu that you can pick which video you want to watch first then goes back to the menu when its done. I had DVD Flick, which is a good editor but Styler lets you have more choices.
Cons
Like any program that you download from Cnet, you must read each step over and over so that you can opt out of the malware/additional crap to download. My advice is to click on the authors name, 'Alex Thuring' and get to Sourceforge which is the main site for DVDStyler and download it from there wheres theres no malware.
Summary
Most free video editors don't have a main menu that you can pick which video you want to watch first and doesn't come back to the main menu when that vid is done playing. So check out DVDStyler and DVD Flick to see which one you like best. Styler gives you the most professional choices.
Loaded with malware
biopixel
Pros
none observed, except perhaps "simple interface"
Cons
Attempts to repeatedly install global hooks, directly access the keyboard and gain access to internet. In other words monitor what you do then send it somewhere

Spamware that doesn't work

Pros
None - don't download whatever you do
Cons
Download packaged with lots of rubbish.
Final program size over 70MB - 20 MB more than ConvertXto DVD and that also converts.
Program froze computer every time it was tried.
Only way to close was to force shutdown with power button - not even Ctl Alt Del worked.
Despite removing program computer is now very slow and when browsing is inundated with pop ups.
