Version: CyberLink PowerDVD 9.0
Pros: It played blu ray disc I rented from blockbuster. Great picture - nvidia gtx 260 HDMI out to 40' sony TV. Had to configure the audio settings inside powerdvd to get sound to come out of tv's speakers
Cons: All the advertising to purchase this , but this expected with trial version. There were no advertisements during playback so not too annoying.
Summary: Straight forward and easy to use. After install the program said my hardware was inadequate for blu ray playback, but it ran with no glitches.

Version: CyberLink PowerDVD 9.0
Pros: Does all that I want, without a lot of distracting "features."
Cons: Really nothing I dislike.
Summary: Free, and useful. No glitches, so far, and no reason to expect any.

Version: CyberLink PowerDVD 9.0
"Powerdvd 9 like version 8 is a mediocre program"
Pros: I have nothing Good to say about this program. It's crap. Customer support is crap.
Cons: It took Cyberlink 2 months after release to get this program to work properly. The basis of Cyberlinks customer support is a forum that they don't monitor. No One will ever get back to you unless you say some thing negative.
Summary: I have nothing Good to say about this program. It's crap. Customer support is crap. Don't Buy it!!!

Pros: None because it does not play Blu-Ray DVDs and does not play the majority of DVDs.
Cons: Cyberlink never worked in XP. Cyberlink is Politically Correct Software: ie. it places so many electronic restrictions against "copying" dvd copyright material in movies, that it makes playing a legel dvd or blu-ray impossible.
Summary: Cyberlink DVD 9 makes it impossible to play new BluRay discs from Netflix because the idiot Hollywood studios are placing electronic blocks against recording movies that actually prevent legal viewing impossible. Cyberlink/DELL has obviously given ... read more >>

Cons: wont play dvds with dolby sound tracks(tell me any movie that doesnt use it) ....unless you purchase an add on. when you do (yes i did) it still wont work because the link to download is so awkward it never works.
Summary: avoid this rubbish like its the plague
