Version: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2/Audigy 2 ZS Driver (Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP) 5/12/2005
"The new version of this product is outstanding."
Pros: The new version of this product is outstanding but isn't the smartest pea in the pod. If you can install it, it's the best sound system available for a computer that I've ever seen or heard. My PC is louder, clearer, with more bass then with any other audio package I've ever tried. My hard drive developed a bad sector. "Dell" replaced it with a factory imaged drive. "Audigy" came pre-installed on it and I swear, my computer sounds great, again.
Cons: After reformatting my hard drive I tried to install my "Audigy" hi def sound program. It's the new version for "Vista" but it, (like the others said), told me my computer didn't have a sound card. How dumb is that? So, If you can install it, use it because it's great. If not, have a look at "SRS Audio Sandbox. And this download is as obsolete as any can get. It;'s way past time to update this download.

Version: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2/Audigy 2 ZS Driver (Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP) 5/12/2005
"how I got the drivers to install"
Pros: I got the same 'unable to find Creative sound card' error. I manually unzipped the driver .exe into a folder. I went to the drivers folder and ran the setup.exe. Now driver version 5.12.5.441 from Creative. Even after updating manually the full update program STILL can't find a supported product, so I don't have whatever else is in the package, but at least I have the latest Creative driver installed.
Cons: I tried just running the driver install-failed with above error. I tried going to devices and updating the driver (and showing it exactly what I wanted)-failed saying it wasn't better than what I already had (which was the Microsoft driver)

"Horrible drivers won't install normally, here's a fix:"
Pros: They work if you're lucky. I had to:
Run the install, which then fails.
Go into Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Sound Video and Game Controllers > Properties tab for my sound card > Driver > Update Driver ...
Cons: Then 'Install from a specific location' > 'Don't Search I will choose the driver to install' > 'Have Disk'
Then point windows to driver file that the failed install unzipped itself to, this is C:\WINDOWS\Temp\CRF000\Drivers\WDM\wdma_emu.inf
The drivers will then hopefully install properly.

Version: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2/Audigy 2 ZS Driver (Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP) 5/12/2005
"Thumbs down... unfortunately."
Pros: I could not rate the pros of the device as I could not install the drivers.
Cons: Windows will detect the Audigy sound card, but Creative Labs' own driver-install will not; after multiple tries in various forms and with different versions of the driver-install, I finally gave up. Now, I'm no novice.. after 25+ years in the computer industry, I like to think that I have some vague idea of what I'm doing... but this stymied me, and the Creative Labs site proved no help at all; sure, it had an update for the drivers, but *it* wouldn't detect the sound card either. All things considered (inasmuch as possible)... I wouldn't bother, it's an exercise in frustration.

Version: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2/Audigy 2 ZS Driver (Windows 98SE/Me/2000/XP) 5/12/2005
Pros: Nada
Cons: The message was, 'unable to find Creative sound card.' Although I am running Audigy 2ZS which is performing well anyway. Whatever.
