Coollector Movie Database helps you keep track of the movies you've seen, the ones you want to see, and the ones you own. With a huge collection of movies and information, any movie buff could spend hours perusing this program and finding all kinds of interesting things to watch.

Pros

Rate for suggestions: When you first open the app, a "game" will pop up asking you to rate three random movies. As you rate each, a new one will appear, and if you get to the point that you haven't seen any of the movies displayed, you can get a new set. With the information you provide in this way, the app begins to learn your preferences and can begin predicting how much you'll enjoy various other movies. You can also rate movies at any time in the app.

Versatile search: There are several different search features in this program, so no matter what you're looking for or what you remember about the movie, you have a good chance of finding exactly what you're looking for. For instance, you can search by movie title or by people, and there are also additional filters you can apply to narrow the search results further.

Cons

Confusing navigation: This program has a split-screen display, with information about movies on the left-hand side, and information about people from those movies on the right. But finding the search boxes and various other features can be a little confusing at first. After a while, though, you'll get the hang of it.

Bottom Line

Coollector Movie Database is an efficient way to track your interests and learn more about your favorite stars. Anyone with a passion for movies, or especially with an extensive movie collection, will definitely benefit from this app. It's free to try, although there is a persistent nag screen, and it costs $14.99 to buy.

Huge database with easy to use interface, extendable and skinnable. Use it for FREE or earn an FREE licence by submitting pictures. The program scans all your movies no use editting by hand, share your database with others easy, add remarks to movies and much more.

Only english but they are working on that

Regular Updates and bug fixes 5. Newly added movie recommendation is a fun to use and helpful feature 6. and finally an active forum where you can directly interact with the programmers and other coolector users

Mega - Information - very good quality (most jackets on the net) still missing some older ones though

Mega - Information - either a lot to add or a lot to sift through - I have about 8000 disks - HUGE job ahead - wish there was an easier way - maybe scanning?
Summary
I tried most of the databases for movies (including writing my own - just a spreadsheet) & so far - this is way ahead of the others!

Pros
Easy to input movies. Uses barcode as well as keyboard. Updates every time opened.
Cons
Updates every time opened. Does not backup data very well, cannot view on another platform. Lost about twenty movies when my hard drive crashed even though I did back it up on a thumb drive. No options to search for wanted movies and save to program so they can be purchased later.
Summary
Good database for tracking movies and easy to use. No real backup for program but can be worked around, even though it should not need it.

Easy to use. Uses bar code as well as manual entry. Extensive database. Free or paid, both good.
Cons
Cannot change picture to English for some movies even though it shows as english in the preview. Has to update everything, everytime it is opened. Can be very slow to download. Nag screen for free version on startup.
Summary
Overall, it is a good movie database that is easy to use. It does work in spite of the updates that have to be waited upon at the opening.

Easy entry for movies. Uses barcode scanner. Retrieves data quickly from the net. Rapid search by Actor, Movie title, etc. Free, although it does nag you when you startup for registration.
Cons
Does not export to a spreadsheet or text very well. Can only use it on one computer unless you are quite knowledgable of computers. Has to update program and movie database from the internet every startup. No cross-platform use.
Summary
Overall It is a good movie database that is easy to use if you only keep it on one computer. It is only for Windows, cannot get android or IOS or even Linux that I'm aware of.

Summary
There's music organizers, but I still see nothing giving details about individual songs, artists, renditions, etc.; just databases to manage what you have (iTunes, Winamp, etc). Would be nice to see the history of a song, how far it rated on "Top 10s", Who initially recorded it, etc. I have an old book, from the UK on songs that are golden, c1964; lots of valuable info in it; but haven't seen anything since that even remotely comes close.
