This very simple, featureless program targets children by providing a virtual coloring book. True to its name, Coloring Book 3: Animals lets kids paint creatures such as snails, walruses, and bats. The application's interface couldn't be more basic to operate, with an extensive palette of colors surrounding a large black-and-white outline of the chosen image. First, you click on a certain hue (such as red, yellow, or blue), then choose the specific shade you'd like. After that, simply clicking on an area of the drawing will paint in that particular section. Amusing sound effects and music accompany the painting process, but we were disappointed to learn you can't turn them off. We also would like to see a free-form drawing tool for children who want to create their own pictures. The trial version only offers about five pictures. With its point-and-click coloring, you'll likely agree that Coloring Book 3: Animals is only right for the youngest of tykes.

The screen looks quite nice. <p>Basic coloring works.

The pages available in the free version didn't inspire me to buy. <p>There's quite a few colours to choose from, but not all the ones I want, so some way of choosing more/different colours, or mixing colours would be good. <p>Okay for a quick play, but not worth buying.

Would be better if the animals were something you see everyday. Maybe that is saved for when you pay the $9.95. But it is worth the download, if you have kids who are just learning to use a mouse or identify colors.

there are some wierd animals that I am not sure I would be too proud to put on the fridge, but my kid seems to like to color so much she doesn't care. The eval is only 5 pictures that are very simplistic. not sure I would pay the additional 9.95 for 50 more pages.
