Even with all its useful features, this ring-tone-conversion application is starting to show its age. MP3 real tones are the big thing now, but Coding Workshop Ringtone Converter mostly produces tunes in the outdated monophonic format. It also converts various polyphonic ring-tone formats, but trial limitations prevent you from using them. Similarly, the demo locks up the program's most enticing feature: a WAP server that allows you to upload ring tones, Java applications, and other media content from your desktop to a cell phone via the Internet. The interface isn't a strong point either. It's quite intuitive and easy to use, but it looks clunky and dull. Nevertheless, Coding Workshop Ringtone Converter basically works, and it comes with a huge library of monophonic ring tones. Installation runs smoothly as well. If you carry an ancient beeping mobile, you'll find this old dog can still perform a few worthwhile tricks.

Publisher's description

From Coding Workshop :

The Coding Workshop Ringtone Converter software allows you to convert ringtones found on the Internet from one format to another, for example from MIDI to Motorola. The Ringtone Converter supports most makes and models of mobile phones, including Audiovox, Alcatel, Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, NEC, Panasonic, Philips, Sagem, Samsung, Sony, Sendo, and Siemens. No cables are required to add the ringtones to your phone; all you need is the software and your mobile.

Has a suite of tools for polyphonic phones such as the latest Nokia, Samsung, and Motorola models allowing you to take standard MIDI files then trim, compress, and probably most importantly enhance the volume of the files when played through cell phone speakers for use on these handsets. Also supported are tools to add pictures and games to your cell phone. Version 5.3 updates wap server to work with more routers.
