CNET Editors' review
Clipdiary provides access to long-forgotten items saved to your clipboard. While the program functions extremely well, certain things could have made this program better.
The program's interface is slightly confusing, but not impossible to manage. Most people will want to take a trip to the Help file to start off, since there is little direction given as to how to manage the clipboard. Luckily, a little experimentation helped a great deal. Operating the program proved equally confusing, but was extremely effective. Items are stored on a long clipboard that simply keeps track of every picture or piece of text ever copied. Users can search through them and then copyand paste them wherever necessary. This process was fairly simple, but we foresee difficulty once a high number of items occupy the clipboard. While a brief description is given for each item, we would have liked to see a record of the date it was placed on the clipboard to help keep everything organized. The program doesn't offer very many features beyond its basic function; however, its hot-key option is nice, which lets people set their own key commands to speed up the entire copy and paste process.
While Clipdiary is often clumsy and initially difficult to manage, we feel that it performs its intended duty well and may benefit people who cut and paste a great deal of information.
Publisher's Description
From Softvoile:
The contents of the standard Windows clipboard constantly change as you use it to copy and paste various information. But your data isn't stored for a long time - when you turn off the computer or just copy some other text, the data is lost. In most cases, that isn't a problem, but have you ever needed the text you copied 30 minutes or an hour ago? Maybe your computer is hanging and the program hasn't saved the data, or maybe you copied some interesting information from a web page, but got distracted and forgot to paste it where you wanted? Or you may simply want to recall what you were doing at the computer a month or a year ago. There are many cases in which you might want to review your clipboard content. We have a solution.
What's new in this version: Version 3.4 adds MultiPasting - support of pasting a few clips.

"This will be ALL you will ever ever need....."
Version: Clipdiary 3.0
Pros
It is able to retain 10000 clips! Imagine how cool is that! from html to graphics. Nothing losses quality. Not like others that when wanting to paste a graphic, it pastes as a bitmap. Clipdiary pastes as a graphic.
Cons
Can't find none as yet.....
Summary
I am a graphic designer and have tried looking for a clipboard extender or something so that when I copy a graphic from one program and paste to another it will remain as a graphic and not as a bitmap. Clipdiary rocks my world outdoubtedly... This is just what I needed! If I had 4 hands, I'd give it 4 thumbs up....

"fast, easy to use, uninstalling killed my productivity"
Version: Clipdiary 2.9
Pros
It's a very friendly program, the customizable shortcut key to make it appear on-screen is a life-saver. I tried other clipboard managers but I never found another one to my liking.
Cons
It's a great piece of software, but if you're not a clipboard junkie, the price is a little steep :)
Summary
Bottm line: I love it!

"A lifesaver"
Version: Clipdiary 2.4
Pros
This has a very light footprint and does not try and load up a bunch of other crap into your system or registry. I work online and rely on this little program 100%!!
There is no need for any other clipboard application, this does it all!Cons
unsure if it shows image previews in tooltip when you mouse over a previously copied image, but if it is not available, it's the only thing i would suggest as a modification.
Summary
Just get this... you will shave loads of time off of your daily routine... especially if you are the copy/paste king i imagine you are :)

"Not fancy, but glitch free, and terrific aid"
Version: Clipdiary 1.4
Pros
Keeps clips between work sessions (does not clear history when it closes). Intuitive, with painless install and small footprint. And the price is right -- zero.
Cons
Don't think I can search the clips database. But I'm a neophyte. Also would be nice to have a speed dial of frequently used clips ready for pasting. Does any such clipboard product have such a capability?

"CPU hog!"
Version: Clipdiary 1.3
Pros
Unlimited copy saves, pop-up previews of full-text clips. Great idea.
Cons
No option to decide whether to save a clip or not. Saving clips is automatic. The problem with this is that if you make any number of full text copies, it saves them all. An option not to save clips over a certain size is definitely needed! Quite often XP programs stop responding, and the culprit is Clip Diary. It hogs the processor. I have even changed it's priority to low in the process list to no avail. Too many times now I've had to stop the process to get access to my other programs back.
My advice is, don't bother until they announce a fix for this problem. If you use MS Office it has a clipboard log up to 24 clips. More than enough, and it can be organized.
If you do try this, and your other programs stop responding, go to processes in your task manager and sort by CPU usage. Chances are Clip Diary is hogging the processor. Just stop the process to get your access back.
I really did like this program but tired of having to shut it down. I now have Office 2007 and no longer need Clip Diary so I have removed it.
Great idea and very useful when it works, but they need to fix this problem.

"Excellent tool, best in class"
Version: Clipdiary 1.3
Pros
The best clipboard monitor I've found, and I've tried quite a few of them! Doesn't have as many features as some other clipboard monitors, but for a tool to just monitor the clipboard then they don't come any better.

"Fantastic Utility, Great Time saver!"
Version: Clipdiary 1.3
Pros
Saves tons of time when entering data, or working with multiple programs.
Helps prevent the loss of data by copying something before a previous copy/paste operation is complete.
Cons
Not all programs take the paste function well, Microsoft's Great Plains being an example. Still well worth the extra click to recover a history of copy entries.

"Best Clipboard utility"
Version: Clipdiary 1.3
Pros
I like the ability for autosaving pictures. Also is the only one worked for me with non-English characters.
