This plain utility lets you store text and images copied to the Clipboard, but its features barely surpass that of the Windows Clipboard. Clipboard Genie automatically grabs text from the Clipboard and displays clips in a straightforward interface. The Options menu has a setting for including images in addition to text clips, and offers tools for trimming extra spaces and removing line breaks or tabs. Clipboard Genie's hot-key feature lets you create shortcuts to launch programs or insert keystrokes or text, but you're limited to four during the trial. Though the program is fairly straightforward, the help files need some beefing up, not to mention a check on spelling and punctuation. Clipboard Genie works OK, but freeware options on the market offer more features and a snazzier design. Though anyone can use this application, most users won't be impressed by its features or functionality.

Send saved clipboard text to Windows applications using hot keys.
Once installed, everything that is copied into Windows Clipboard is saved into Clipboard Genie. To retrieve it, simply click on the text or graphic in the list box. It is copied to the Windows Clipboard where you can paste it into other windows applications. There is also a scrolling method that enables you to scroll through the Clipboard buffer using hotkeys F7 and F8. Data from your Clipboard can also be sent over the network to another PC running Network Clipboard Genie.
