This simple clipboard program captures files copied to the Windows Clipboard but doesn't offer an extensive feature set compared to others in the category. ClipX offers a simple right-click menu for accessing copied items and configuring the program, while a left-click displays recently copied items. Under Configuration, you can specify how many clips the program retains and whether it should ignore text or bitmap files. Default hot keys let you pull up the list of clips, search ClipX's simple manager for a specific clip, or launch an online search for an item, but it doesn't offer hot keys for individual clips or support drag and drop for easily inserting clips. The program doesn't retain text formatting but it does work with image files. You also can save a set of clips and reload them as needed. ClipX is fairly easy to use and it's offered free of charge, but it doesn't offer the clip-management features found in similar applications.Publisher's description
From Francis Gastellu :ClipX is a tiny clipboard history manager, it can be recalled via a hotkey and supports both bitmap and text clipboards. ClipX is very unobstrusive and will change the way you think about clipboard operations.

Version: ClipX 1.3.8
"Good program to save time & keystrokes for us non-typists"
Pros: The ability to save & access up to 1024 last copy images/text. Lets me access stuff I copied yesterday & last week.
Cons: Can't delete individual item from the list - at least I can't seem to find a way to do this.

Version: ClipX 1.3.8
Pros: can hold up to 1024 clipboard items,
easy to use, usefull keyboard shortcuts
Cons: does not allow copying anything other than files, text, or bitmaps unless it is the last item copied.

Version: ClipX 1.3.8
"Very useful clipboard extension that adds no instability to the system."
Pros: Clipx is a very useful keyboard extension that allows a user to have multiple things on the clipboard and select the one to use. It adds no instability to the system. (Many of the other clipboard extensions I tried made the system unstable.)

Version: ClipX 1.3.8
"Super simple, instantly useful"
Pros: I wanted something that would let me do lots of formatting (replacing big chunks of text with one of three things). For this purpose, ClipX is perfect. I can store a large number of previous Copies and select between them on a special hotkey paste. Perfectly useful.
Cons: More hot keys would make it faster, but it's still a great program.

Version: ClipX 1.3.8
"Good product - does what I want."
Pros: Can specify how many clips to keep; has icon in system tray; left click gives list of all saved clips - can choose any to copy/paste; right click lets you configure program or manage clips (delete some etc.)
Cons: One or two very minor bugs, but doesn't freeze. Eg when you delete/clear a clip and then hover over icon, instead of showing next clip on list the balloon says <unsupported clipboard> (but works OK). Sometimes leaves a small blanked area on taskbar
Summary: See Pro's & Con's above. I will use this prog every day from now on.
