really good and ease to use application from xdsnet - they have done quite well job! so much FTP apps out there - and only some like captainFTP are compatible to different servers and protocols.
i am using captain FTP also with crowznest as FTP forward to send multiple pictures to several media clients when out of office (and meanwhile also when i am in office!)
i just have to upload my pictures over mobile connection once, then put them in some hot folder - and the files run over broadband simultaneous to all defined client FTP servers.
(email is no alternative because not running directly into archive)
and if problems occur - i really get feedback and solutions back! so i can just recommend their software.
also use isoftphone from xdsnet for VOIP -

Use Captain for years now but version 6.0020 is very buggy and constantly crashes especially if you use sftp.
hope it will be fixed soon as at the current stage it's not usable for me. -

I have been a Captain FTP user for close to 4 years now and would not pass it up for any other FTP software on the Mac.
Problem recovery support has been prompt and helpful - this is usually where products / companies fail to deliver but I'm thrilled to recommend the Captain FTP team to friends and colleagues alike.
Upgrading couldn't be simpler. All your prior information is preserved - just drag and drop the new application into the Mac OS X Applications folder and the address book and preferences remain in-tact.
I look forward to future releases of this software! -

This is Awesome program!!! I used so many ftp program before and just installed captain because of my friend's suggestion. It has very well organized menu-bars so easy to use and organize my data. Whenever I try to transfer any data and also even large number of files, it works without any problem or delay. I never have any problem since I installed and also I am using ftp program every day and lots of time per day. This is the best ftp program. -

In May of 2005, I wrote this about Captain FTP after having used it for about a month.
"Captain FTP is an excellent product. After years of experience with WS_FTP Pro on Windows, I found the Captain to be very user friendly. I have found email support to be very responsive."
Three years later, I am still happy with my decision to use Captain FTP.
I recently found a bug and they fixed it within 1.5 days. So, support is still very responsive.
And, the product has way more features than I will ever use. That is good also.
Captain FTP is highly recommended. -

Ich benÒ¶tigte ein FTP - Programm um meine nur geringen AnsprÒ¼che zu realisieren.
Freeware hat das nicht geleistet, aus nicht nachvollziehbaren GrÒ¼nden bekam ich keinen Connect zu meinen Servern.
Captain FTP hat trotzt meiner nur laienhaften Kenntnisse in diesem Bereich von Anfang an sehr einfach funktioniert und macht seitdem genau das auf meinem Rechner - es funktioniert.
Genau das und nicht weniger erwarte ich von einer Software.
Aus meiner Sicht eine klare Empfehlung! -

Nachdem ich Captain FTP nun einige Zeit lang testen konnte, muss ich sagen,
dass es der beste FTP-Client fÒ¼r Mac OS X ist.
NatÒ¼rlich habe ich auch andere FTP-Clients getestet, doch keiner lief so stabil und bietete eine so schnelle Transfergeschwindigkeit.
Auch die Handhabung ist sehr einfach und daher sehr benutzerfreundlich.
Zwar gibt es auch Freeware FTP-Clients, doch ich wÒ¼rde eher ca. 25 â?¬ investieren,
damit ich einen so guten FTP-Client habe, anstatt mich mit einer Freeware-Version rumplagen zu mÒ¼ssen, die wirklich nicht mit Captain FTP zu vergleichen ist.
Insgesamt auf jeden Fall eine Kaufempfehlung und wenn man wirklich einen sehr guten FTP-Client haben will und Wert auf QualitÒ¤t legt: Nur Captain FTP in meinen Augen ! -

I had tried several FTPs with no success. It took me an hour to figure out how to use Classic FTP, and when I tried to upload, it never synched properly. Safari does not have a built in FTP, and when I tried other FTP programs, they were too complicated to figure out. Enter Captain FTP. It has a classic Mac OS X feel to it, and I didn't even have to read the directions to work, it logged into my remote site and I was up and running in less than 60 seconds! It doesn't stop there, It automatically synchs up my webpage with only the new material, reducing the upload times significantly. In addition to my webpage management, I can also work it as a remote file system, which works great while working student projects while traveling to various countries.
Captain FTP is simply the best there is.
