• Beware of Losing Data!

  Pros

  Extremely intuitive graphic user interface, visually attractive, solid/stable coding. Meets/exceeds virtually every need of a basic map. Very responsive customer support. Would love to have been able to give 5 stars but see cons.

  Cons

  It prints well from Firefox and Safari, but not at all from Chrome (customer support said that they are working on fixing this). The biggest problem however is that it completely lost a map (project). I hadn't yet upgraded my account, so I couldn't save to my local drive and thus lost the whole project. I can't risk that happening again, so I won't use it for anything important (ie, any project that takes more than a single session to complete).

  Summary

  Superb functionality for single session projects that don't depend on saving projects to their servers. Beware that servers can totally loose your files. Can easily be used with groups that don't have much experience with concept/mind mapping because the program/GUI is so intuitive and easy to use.

  Intuitive, easy, aesthetically attractive.

  Cons

  I lost the updated version of my "sheet" which is a huge set-back for my business processing. It would be helpful if they had more layers of connections and if one could choose which layers to show at a given time.

  Pros

  The interface is really easy to figure out and in no time you have a flow sheet all created. The beta version has the really important features like saving and exporting.

  Cons

  The up time is sometimes really bad and unpredictable. There are times that the time out takes way to long. I would love to pay money to have the program but that hasn't happened yet either.

  Summary

  I'll keep using this as a tool but would like to have the up time on the site much more reliable.

• Bubbl.us can lose your data

  Pros

  The visual appeal of the interface is better than most other mind mapping tools

  Cons

  Sometimes all the data on a sheet is completely lost. This happens on both bubbl.us and bubbl.us/beta. There is no revision history so it's impossible to retrieve.

  Summary

  I starting using bubbl.us because the interface was more attractive. However, after about a month of usage without any problems I noticed that one of my sheets had become completely blank. Soon afterwards I found a couple of sheets had this problem too. All the data I had was completley lost.
