"Protects your home page and more."
Pros: Browser Hijack Retaliator supports IE6, IE7, Avant and other IE favorite browsers. It protects IE pages when windows starts up. Click on IE pages and it will protect your current home page from being hijacked. You can also protect another browser, by typing the URL address and click start protection.
On favorites it will show a popup window notifying you when new favorites are added, and you have the option to allow or remove the new favorite. It protects browser helper objects and hosts file local host. It shows all startup programs, some services that start when windows starts. On IE Plus selected cookies and all recently typed URLs can be deleted. It shows all IE toolbars, browser extentions, and emergency repair. Has options to activate automatic retaliation, or run BHR when windows starts, and has a browser restore function.
Cons: Would be better if Browser Hijack Retaliator could support more browsers.

Pros: none we have another winner. this program has all the features of winpatrol except that it is easier to set up as far as seing exactly what you are protecting. may even be better then hijackthis at cleaning up hijackers..

Pros: This program is great! My browser no longer redirects to garbage pages.
Cons: The only problem I have with the software is that it doesn't remove the hijacker. If this program isn't running, the hijacker still redirects pages. I have no clue where this hijacker is hiding on my computer as no scanner has picked it up yet. Surely someone can make a hijack thwarter that actually removes the hijacker and/or tells you where it's located so you can manually remove it?

Pros: blocks changes to hosts file and alerts you when something tries to change the file. tools to save or correct IE settings.
Cons: a little buggy. sometimes the taskbar icon becomes inactive and i have to go to taskmanager to close the program and restart it.

Pros: my IE7 was hijacked and i was not able to change my homepage..this little program solved that in one click!!
i also had some issue not being able to use my task manager after it was reset by a virus..this also solved that..Cons: havent had any probs yet!
