BlueJ is an integrated Java development environment developed specifically for introductory programming learning and teaching. It is ideal for small-scale development. BlueJ offers a very easy-to-use and highly interactive interface that allows the interactive creation and invocation of objects.

What's new in this version: This is a maintenance release which fixes some important bugs. A bug causing startup problems, particularly on Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion), has been resolved. An issue with multidimensional arrays in the inspector and debugger has also been resolved, as has an issue with non-ASCII characters in interactive method calls.
