I downloaded this from their site - first it failed as it wanted Admin Privs - then it failed creating menu group (twice) - They are impossible to e-mail direct from windows mail. and the forum (which I joined for some help) auto deleted both new topic and reply to therir post
DONT TOUCH THIS WITH A BARGEPOLE - If you have Vista - the company is not cotactable if you get a problem
90% of New computers have Vista on board (after all it's been out for years.. It's about time developers brought out compatible versions

Get the latest Vista compatible version from blackmagic-color.com
I purchased version 2.85 home edition and foolishly upgraded to their so called PRO VERSION.The guys themselves don't know the problems with their software which means it's probabably not their creation and it works on spyware cookies, temporary files etc. They refused to refund and now they have refused to give a key since the product gets disabled after a disk clean up.I've nothing more to say except that I gor this from a button on Google. That buttun , no longer works.
Terrible stuff and terrible support. If you are looking for getting ripped off then buy this product. I'll be reporting this matter to google. They don't know the problems whith this product and cannot give a key since this is not their creation and not giving a key proves that they into piracy of "Their product" Neither do they refund and don't know that their own creation gets disabled after a disk clean up. I tracked their email and found that my emails were being forwarded elsewhere.
Home version costs 40 Dollars. Business and Professional editions UPGRADE cost 208 Dollars while a direct buy of Pro is 199 US Dollars. The "Higher editions don't have any extra features as claimed. PaintNet, Fx foto are top class and free. COREL/ACDESEE/PAINTSHOP Give far better results and are less that 1/3 the price of this software. Pro /biz have 10 Dollars Pic perk/Fx Foto Luminance, Hue, Saturation
Cleaning temparary files, Spyware/Adware disables the software to a 10 Day trial edition. BUY IT SINCE I'D LOVE TO SEE YOU YELL.Contact me if I'm wrong.
I tried Acdsee with a terrible support and finally after 3 years it got activated. I tried Paintshop Pro but it's sick. Corel by itself is sick. Adobe is a money collector. Fotofx of Triscape[Spyware according to Mcafee] is great but Mcafee site advisor wants to be bribed in the garb of upgradation before giving clearance. It's the same which destroyed NEOTRACE TOTALLY. The only spyware site in the world is Microsoft which hacked my license and I had to buy a new one. Their support gave me the phone number of a grocery for activating their Genuine Advantage[It's genuine advantage for them so much so that they know only phone numbers of grocers !] Coming to Black Magic:
Here are my feelings for this fantastic software :
1. It's got some artificial intelligence.
2. The only software any where in the world in the field of top class colorization of B/w pictures
3. It works miraculously and clearly there's some artificial intelligence behind it.
4. The home Edition of version 2.85 is cool or rather the coolest. I would buy the Pro version too for getting more features.
5. If anyone wants to buy a photo colorizer than Black Magic is the best. No other photo editing software would do what black magic does.
6. THE SUPPORT IS FANTASTIC TOO.
7. I use Fotofx for removing blemishes and Ashamppo's Photo Optimizer for instant optimization[Yellow old B/W photos become totally white and brand new. After that I USE BLACK MAGIC. I get Outstanding results. Thanks to Google which has the habit of picking up the best Stuff on earth.
Cons: One issue needs fixing. After drive cleaning the software converts into trial version and the license and the string have to re -entered again. Hope Black Magic guys fix this.
colous changings of this
Don't believe the competitors' negative reviews here - just try it and see for yourself.
I have tried a few other coloring programs and been disappointed with the results (like looking through a cello film). Blackmagic on the other hand gives you results so amazing, you would have difficulty believing your eyes. Its very real - take this from a professional art critic and an artist.
I am writing this mainly because I feel the program has been unfairly criticized by (possibly) a competitor - and so I would like for others not to be put off by these selfish remarks and discover the joy of using this excellent software. This is one program that has really impressed me by its novelty and true innovativeness. Its got that distinctive quality that makes you a loyal fan, and I am one.
And by the way, Neuraltek support is excellent. I have contacted them on several occassions during the past three years, and got very prompt and truely professional after sales care.
downloaded it and started right up ,,,skipped the tutorial and still had fun..they state clearly that this is not a FULLY FUNCTIONAL profesional series download. unlike the previous reviewer complaint of bait and switch...they make it clear it is not the FULL program...i will be buying it to add to my photo restoration business
none so far

apologies to the previous reviewer, they were not complaining about the download. HOWEVER...they also give a comparision chart to show features that are or are not included in each version
Trial version is excellent. A great tool to colorize B/W photos.
After using the trial version I purchased the home version for $39 only to find out it is a watered down featureless program. This is classic bait and switch! Beware, the only BlackMagic here is taking your money!

I have been using Blackmagic since 2003, and must say that this negative note is the most untruthful review I have ever seen. But don't listen to me, try it out (its free!) and you will know what I mean. This review looks like its been left by either a competitor (shame on you) or someone who might have tried to twist their arm for a free upgrade - unsuccessfully.
The trial version is common for three program versions, lite, mid, and the pro, and lets you try out most functions of the pro. BUT IT SAYS SO RIGHT AT THE START UP SCREEN, AND REMINDS YOU SEVERAL TIMES, INCLUDING ON THE WEB SITE BEFORE YOU BUY A LICENSE. So I don't know what this fellow is going on about.
I am surprised that Neuraltek have left this unanswered for so long - being a loyal user, I thought it only right to set the record straight.
A very original concept and produces great looking results. Highly recommended and essential tool for any image editing tool collection.
