This simple Windows error code description tool would only be improved by a text search function. Binaware Error Messages 2006's smart, short interface needs just 10 buttons and a small display window. The tooltips over each button are all the help you need, but you can find a few answers at the online FAQ.
The easiest way to use this program is to enter the error code in the input window. The error text displays immediately. There isn't a method to go the other way. You can't enter a word and find which codes contain that word. For those who like to browse, a simple click displays every error code in a scrollable list. Click the appropriate button and you can print the error list, save it to a text file, or create an HTML page. Highlight an error in any list, and click a button to copy the text to your clipboard.
You can alter and save the interface layout, but the default list width stays firm. Binaware Error Messages 2006 is the kind of freeware you always hope to find; it's simple to install and operate, and it's simply useful.

Pros
I'm sure error codes can be found in several places on the internet, but this program is practical because it's consolidated and always accessible. I only wish it encompassed troubleshooting and repair/correction procedures.
Cons
Needs to take it a step further and include troubleshooting ad remedies for the errors it lists.
