Very good for the use I downloaded it for: transcoding VBR mp3s into CBR mp3s because my stupid Creative Zen is unable to keep track of timestamps correctly in VBR mp3s so I can't fast forward and I can't rewind. However, the description says that tags are preserved... that's true for ID3v1 tags but not for ID3v2 tags: the preserved ID3v1 tags are simply copied to the ID3v2 tags even when the original mp3 has ID3v2 tags.
I tried one other program, think it was jetaudio, and this one easily beats it because it used both cores on my E6550. Jetaudio only used 1 core to transcode audio, and it obviously doubles the time. Took less than 2 minutes to make a 300MB WAV from a 19MB MP3. And has a simple interface
Converted my ogg files of approximately 20MB to MP3 format without problems. The programme is small and very simple. Although it takes quite some time, it runs in the background without slowing up my computer.
Just slow (approximately 20 minues to convert a 20MB ogg file to MP3), but I haven't tried other programmes to compare this with.
