Editors' reviewWhile it might not be the most exciting imaging program we've ever seen, this application delivers solid, speedy performance. The utility either lets you tweak preexisting image files or turn them into PDFs. In addition to the format found in its name, Batch TIFF Resizer also supports BMP and JPEG files, though it can't work with GIFs. The boring yet clean interface is divided into two main panes; the upper shows you the list of queued images files, and the lower lets you preview them. Although Batch TIFF Resizer can indeed make your images larger or smaller, it also lets you apply compression, modify dots per inch, and protect PDFs with a password or several encryption algorithms. We didn't encounter any performance glitches during testing, and the application seemed particularly quick when we were transforming images to PDFs. Anyone who needs to resize images or convert them to PDFs will appreciate this utility's no-nonsense approach.
