• Fantastic Piece of Software

  Pros

  Runs its own scheduler in background, so doesn't rely on Windows' godawful one. It's very fast for mirror backups. i.e. after initial one, it scans, updates and deletes stuff within 15 minutes from my 2TB HDD backup and 500GB backups simultaneously.

  Cons

  Absolutely none.

  I used to love this software. Then I discovered it is NOT case-sensitive. When I restored from backup, it was close to useless. It works just fine when you have a file or three... but not if you want to recreate your entire folder hierarchy. Interactions with fileservers and version control systems have cared about case for ~20 years. It was a disaster. If it had just *failed*, that would've been better. Instead, it was misleading and earned false trust. It's sad that BU4A doesn't handle this. When I contacted BU4All customer support, they said "we have never claimed it is case sensitive," and told me that a case sensitive version would be available Dec 2012. That has been pushed back to "we hope" the second part of 2013.

  Pros

  NONE. I am extremely concerend with this product

  Cons

  This solution is not reliable, when I had to restore just one folder I could view the files in the preview options but was getting message "Files could not be found" In business enviroment this is very dangerous. Even worse, when tried to contact customer service/ tech support, got response of 2 lines with vague discriptions of how to connect via internet to their offices. NO PHONE NUMBERS WERE PROVIDED. Since I am located in California, the only time to contact them was in the middle of the night my time, no other options for help were provided

  Do not go with this product. I stops suddenly and does not back up everything is set to.

  I can tell you that it's reliable, after you back-up the data it gets verified so you're sure that in case you need to restore it will work

  Pros

  I have used a few backup programs in the past and this one is by far the best. I have been using BackUp4All Pro for a few years now. And the frequent program updates make a great program even better.

  None--it works great!

  Summary

  If you are looking for an easy to use program that backs up what you want, when you want, where you want--you cannot do better than this.

  Pros

  Has worked well for me for 6 months. Easy to use. Have restored file using it and always worked easily and successfully.

  Interface could be a little friendly, particularly for newbies.

  This software does have 30 day trial with the free version.

  Cons

  Their is nothing about this software that works. The first free trial caused my system to do a major crash. I tried out on another machine and tried a backup using CD's and only got up to the 2nd CD when my system locked up. Tech support was bad news

  Pros

  The product looked very user friendly. I thought as I started to configure a backup of my system, that I would buy this program.

  Cons

  I launched a backup of a few directories and all started well for up to 14% and stayed there After 2 hrs there was no change when I tried to stop the backup it was locked I hard booted and the system crashed I had to open my system and reset the cmos

  Summary

  I liked the products features and the ease to setup a backup. But when I lost my C drive due to the software locking up my system causing me to hard boot, I was scared that I might lose my computer and all my apps. I was lucky that I had the skills to open the case and reset Cmos. I was in contact with Softland and submitted a log file but when I was asked to run the software again to test their fix, I had already removed the program. No way was I going to test their software on my main computer and it crash and maybe burn! My system is a Dell XPS-running Vista 32Bit-and it's 1 year old. I do have another PC that I might try running the full version on. It's brand new and I have Win7 up and running on it. To sum it up, I think that folks need to really be careful with this program Gene Smith genesmith2@cox.net

  Pros

  I don't understand why this does not have more raving reviews. It's a stellar interface, and does fast backups to stanard zip format. When it comes time to restore, it just works. You can even restore files without the software installed.

  Cons

  Does not have windows system image backup, but I see that as a separate need altogether.

  Summary

  I have few must-have software products, but Backup4All will be a keeper for a lieftime.
