Greatly improve your Google search results with this helpful freeware utility. Axioma Searcher's interface runs in your default browser and serves as a gateway for your search engine queries. Help is close to nonexistent with this app, but a careful look at the program's tabbed menu should suffice for most users.

At first glance, Axioma Searcher appears to be a simple search tool. On entering your first search, a new interface appears below your search results. Multiple items greatly help you narrow and refine your search. You can quickly filter results by clicking a page type to display only items from that top-level domain. The program reads all results and displays subject headers. Clicking a header immediately displays results that seem to identify with the chosen subject. The Related Words section makes it a snap to limit results to those that include the selected term. Additional tools use only a click or two to limit results by Web site extension, file type, or page component.

Of course, because of the nature of search engines, Axioma isn't 100 percent perfect and the occasional odd result pops up. However, at a cost of slightly less screen space and a sponsor column, users are rewarded with a more efficient method of conducting Web searches. This utility is easily recommended for users of every experience level.

  "a warning appeared about scamming when I tried it"

  Pros: I have not used it often, but it seemed ok

  Cons: it's no Google or Ask
