Version: Avira AntiVir Premium 10.0.0.603
"Extremely high all around detection, lightning fast AV!"
Pros: First of all, Avira's detection, detection algorithm is very through , comparable with Kaspersky AV. Ultra fast reaction if any threat is found. Configuration is satisfying.
Cons: Not much caveats and alerts in my opinion. You get the feeling that your system isn't protected. Of course it is! Updates are weird. Interface could be a little more detailed. Classic protection without at least some new advanced features.
Summary: For those who don't know! Avira took a lot awards for being at the top of detection. There is always a fight between Avira, Kaspersky, G Data, and Norton (maybe). Avira is an old school, classic based Anti-Virus protection. Avira's detection is "raw-crude". Sometimes i think Avira is based on "police force" AV, LOL!!! The cheapest Anti-Virus protection i have ever seen, aggravated and weaker products are usually much expensive, too sad, but true. Some exemples are McAfee AntiVirus Plus, Panda Antivirus or let's say AVG Anti-Virus, cost way too much according what you get. That would be poor virus and spy detection and protection against them. It's normal thing for developers to say that his product is the best, ultimate etc... The worst thing is! They won't even listen populance and what they think about it. Developers say: "This product is tested", i say not it's not! Real test is exactly every single man who has it installed on his machine at home and he has seen how protected is he. My advice is not to pay for these 3 craps i mentioned. Install only good stuffs like Avira, Kaspersky, G Data, Norton and ESET. Heart of every Anti-Virus is detection and protection is brain. Heart or how much can he detect and cope with viruses, brain - how much protection is he capable to give, think where they are and how to block them. Makes sence? Right?

"Working well as far as I can make out!"
Pros: Holding the curser over the icon to see whats active is good!
Cons: The warning boxes that come up could be clearer for the ordinary bod computer user!
Summary: It's reasonably easy to upload and set up!

"Absolutely Rock Solid Performance and Protection"
Pros: Light on memory consumption...quick scanning...and superb configuration...and protection. New Pro-Activ behaviour scanner is an excellent detection device. Allows you to thoroughly set up scanning to pin point system areas .
Cons: Some users on various forums have complained about various bugs associated with Version 10...I realize that dependent on what any individual has on their system can cause problems with any app.
Summary: Avira has provided SECURITY..no Surprises...Updates itself as promised...and is light and unobtrusive. It's an intelligent...superb...anti-virus...anti-malware solution. Purchase it...you will be convinced ! Version 10...10 out of 10.

Version: Avira AntiVir Premium 10.0.0.603
"Very nice, But just had problems"
Pros: Lots of features, and Very great anti virus protection and frequent updates.
Cons: Not Exactly sure what in the program caused this but im suspecting the firewall in the program was blocking most of my internet because with this anti virus enabled, I could just barely chug along on the internet. Turning it off fixed the problem.
Summary: Very great Anti-Virus software but i think their Free version gets the job done. This premium version just seemed to have lots of errors for me, I will stick with the Free version.

"Worst Product & Bad Service ? Avira AntiVir Premium"
Pros: Nothing ; I didn't like anything about this product or this company and the reason I?m writing this is because of the Error in this line: Please enter at least 10 characters
Cons: - Avira failed to protect my computer that ended up completely infected.
- AntiVir Premium went ?out of date? ? without knowing when and whySummary: Worst Product & Bad Service ? Avira Anti Virus
My experience with AntiVir Premium holds for about 3 Months.
- Avira failed to protect my computer that ended up completely infected.
- AntiVir Premium went ?out of date? ? without knowing when and why
- I was given false and wrong information by customer service for more than 2 weeks.
- I was given promises that were never kept.
- My business was damaged as a result of their inappropriate treatment
- After making my point - over emails - with one of their Team Leader ? I received an offer to get one year free subscription - I refused immediately.
- The cost of the computer technician who fixed our computer - was unexpected, high and
Unnecessary expense, especially in this economic time.
- My Livelihood injured - As a home business owner (Giving Office-services including
Quick Book).
- I will never recommend AVIRA company or its products ! -

"Updates are buggy and will crash your system - BSOD"
Pros: nothing; have uninstalled the paid product from all 3 of my machines.
Cons: They have poor response times for support. Their updates are buggy and have caused BSODs. Their response is to have you send in your logs and they will attempt to send you an individual fix.
Summary: After their last update their product started causing BSODs every 3 to 5 days. Took a bit of time to discover it was their program causing it. Their support forums show that this is happening to multiple people. Their support response is slow; instead of fixing their software, they request the user to capture logs (good luck for non IT experienced users), upload to any site you can find, and then they attempt to create an individual fix. Sounds very much like a Rinky Dinky sized company where a handful of people are trying to do everything. All they have managed to do is drive me and my money away.
