  This product is pure garbage. I tried to open a short 15fps .avi and the program just shuts down! What a joke. Don't even bother downloading it. It's a waste of your valuable time.

  I couldn't import my avi file because of missing codecs (even though the file plays in other programs). I tried using the very difficult-to-navigate help files to find out what was missing, but I don't think the information is available. I gave up and uninstalled.

  I could not import a video, it required a codec (fourCC=MJPG) that I apparently don't have. While seeking help: There was no codec information on avitrick's webite. While searching the internet for a free codec, I encountered some very shady websites. I also found a shady link on the avitrick website, that inspired me to remove the software immediately. I'll keep looking, thanks.

  Pros

  for a freeware product this an amazingly useful little program. i occasionally use microsoft movie maker for transition effects, but felt restricted by the export options (basically all at 25fps and wmv - cept for the dv option - still 25fps). no such restrictions here. and once you get the hang of this little gem some pretty neat effects can be achieved. no instability on my machine and im running xp pro. 5 stars for being great, and 5 more for being exactly what i was looking for. thx :)
